Jennifer L. Thompson

I first met attorney Jennifer Thompson when she was working out of the Meeker County Attorneys office as a prosecutor. She was assigned to a (TPR) Termination of Parental Rights case I was involved in. I had previously been married to the mother of the child in the case, and the biological father in ...that case was the mother's first husband. The child (was not) my biological child. I independently petitioned the Court, and was allowed into the case as a Joiner in what the Court ultimately deemed was in the best interest of the child. Jennifer, representing Meeker County did not oppose my petition. During the process I became a foster parent to the child. That case was successfully prosecuted by Jennifer which concluded with both biological parents rights being terminated and positioned me to successfully, swiftly, and seamlessly navigate through the adoption process for (my daughter).   A short time later, Jennifer started her own private practice. Once I became aware of that I immediately hired her to file a private (TPR) Termination of Parental rights case involving my biological child with the same mother. Again, Jennifer's skills and abilities were on display and resulted in a successful conclusion at the District Court, and the mothers rights were terminated. That case has now moved to the Appellate Court, and I just received Jennifer's responsive brief to the Appeal.  In short, her attention to detail, technical skills, and remarkable understanding of the (TPR) process, statutes, and supportive case law are outstanding. Her ability to articulate and translate them into a firm foundational argument are impressive. I have complete confidence in Jennifer, and that she will prevail at the Appellate level as well. I highly recommend Jennifer Thompson to anyone who is attempting to do what is in the best interest of a child.
