Fantastic 10/10

Peter Culp did an outstanding job representing me. Peter represented me in a custody, child support, and contempt hearing. I had an attorney I previously worked with retained for the hearing but he failed to do a conflict of interest check until the last minute and withdrew from the case 2 days befo...re the hearing. I contacted Peter Culp law offices the afternoon before my scheduled hearing, explained my situation, and Peter agreed to represent me with less than 24 hours notice. I asked Peter if he could reschedule the hearing delaying it by 2 months. The next morning Peter informed the court he was representing me, requested the hearing be delayed, and we were granted the 2 month extension I asked for. I was unable to make it to the rescheduled hearing due to the strict contractual obligation I have with my job. Peter said he would smooth things over with the court commissioner and attend the hearing in my stead. Peter indeed smoothed things over, I suffered no penalties for not appearing. Peter diligently fought for me and the outcome greatly exceeded my expectations. I was expecting to be found in contempt and I was almost positive I would be sanctioned by the court with SOME sort of penalty, I was not. I was expecting my child support to substantially increase. It was not. I was expecting custody changes. No changes were granted. Peter did an amazing job and I am left truly impressed. I was summoned to court to have child support, contempt penalties, and custody changes. None of the things the opposing party was trying to accomplish were achieved and you cannot ask for more than that from an attorney. 10/10. I would have Peter represent me again 100%. I have seen a review stating Peter is rude. I do not agree. Peter is very direct and he sets realistic expectations. Sometimes you will be told things that you won't like. I do not believe that is being rude. I would rather have an attorney set realistic expectations and be direct rather than sell me fantasies about rainbows and butterflies. Telling me everything is going to be okay, then be angry later when it is not. I appreciate Peter's direct forthcoming realistic approach. I had an attorney sell me rainbows and butterflies just to be disappointed when none of the things that were promised materialized. I also want to add Peter is very knowledgeable and not difficult to reach. Peter HIMSELF took my phone call when he was leaving court at 3:30 in the afternoon to hear about my hearing and agreed to take my case when I had court the next day at 9:15 am. Not many attorneys would do that on less than a day notice and I am very grateful he did. Whenever I would ask about things related to my case Peter had the knowledge off the top of his head and would respond with an answer immediately. I can tell by how quickly Peter answered he has a lot of experience in family law. He knew things other law firms did not know and were incorrect about. Peter accomplished everything I asked him to do, from start to finish. I would retain Peter Culp in the future without a doubt. I was in a very serious situation and Peter got me through it.

Represented us in a University-related matter

Peter Culp represented us for an administrative appeal hearing for my wife. He came highly recommended by friends who have either used him in the past or had heard good things. We were not disappointed at all in hiring him. He was very competent in university-related matters and understood the ins-an...d-outs of how these procedures go. There were several areas where I felt Peter did a wonderful job: 1 – He laid out the strategy and explained, in great detail, what he was doing in each step and why he was doing it. He was open to suggestions and if he didn’t agree, he was quick to explain why he didn’t agree. There was no confusion as to what he planned to present, no surprises, and both my wife and I (neither of us had any training in law) understood why and what was going to happen. 2 – He was very honest in pointing out shortcomings in our case. I appreciated the honesty and it also provided a solid foundation on which to build her argument. 3 – He struck me as a man of high integrity and honesty. Obviously, he was never going to allow us to lie or bend the truth (no good lawyer would), but it went beyond that. On several occasions, if a topic was personal or might cause discomfort, he would explain why he wanted to discuss it and ask us if it was okay. If we said no, end of discussion – he wouldn’t bring it up. 4 – He was quick to point out what problems we would have testifying. He also gave us advice on how to address the concerns. For example, I tended to ramble after a question, providing excess details. He pointed that out and advised – just answer the question, nothing more. If it’s a yes/no question, just answer yes or no. As a result I felt far more comfortable and confident then I would have walking in as a witness. 5 – He never missed a deadline. It was a case in academia, so there were some pretty hard, convoluted, deadlines to follow. 6 – Overall, there are two very big positives we felt about him. One, he was a nice man. We probably all have preconceived notions of what a lawyer is like, but he just came across as a nice person wanting to do his job well. Two, my wife feels (I was not in the room for most of the hearing) that Peter presented the best possible case for her. As I type this we do not know the outcome, but she feels there was nothing more that could have been said in her favor. I could not give Peter any higher recommendation. From the moment we met him to end of the hearing, we felt we were in good hands.
