Attorney Peter Harbach is a partner at Hooper Law Office and president emeritus of the Wisconsin Council of Estate Planning Attorneys. Peter teaches nationally on elder law topics including Medicaid’s expanded estate recovery laws and Veteran Pension benefit planning. He is a member of Wealth Counsel, Elder Counsel, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Wisconsin Council of Estate Planning Attorneys, the Wisconsin Elder Law Section, and is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Peter earned his undergraduate degree in Criminology and Law Studies from Marquette University as a St. Ignatius Academic Scholarship recipient. After graduation, Peter worked in an accounting department which worked closely with and assisted the company's in-house counsel. He then decided to return to school and attended Marquette University Law School. He focused his course of study in estate planning and family law.

Peter is an avid baseball fan and attended Brewers’ playoff victories in 2008 and 2011. His hobbies also include music, homebrewing, and Shorei Kempo karate

Knowledgeable, Professional and Accommodating

I am a financial advisor in the Fox Valley area with 30 years of experience. I have sent Peter numerous clients as well as my own family and friends over the years, and I also consistently attend the continuing education courses for financial professionals provided by his firm. Excellent Service

I recently worked with Peter to transition my great aunt to an assisted living facility. He was incredibily knowledgeable, prompt, and compassionate. He informed us of VA funds that were available to her that we were unaware of; this will ensure that she can afford the care that she deserves for years to come. We can't thank Peter enough!

Wonderful Resource for my Clients

I have sent a number of my customers to Peter for estate planning reviews and Medicaid planning. They are always very impressed with his knowledge and ability to explain complex legal strategies in terms they can understand. Great Help to My Family

Peter helped my parents plan for nursing home expenses. He was very helpful, explained everything to my elderly parents in a way they could understand, and was very responsive to our family questions. He is a very nice young man and a great resource to my family.

Intelligent, Meticulous and Empathetic

Peter Harbach exemplifies the very best attributes of an attorney. He is intelligent, meticulous and empathetic. Peter represented our son in a criminal matter. Although our son's case was slightly outside his usual practice, we felt assured that Peter provided the best advice and counsel available. He knew (or reviewed) the law and advised with confidence. Peter was an invaluable help

Recently, we were charged with the responsibility of assisting two elderly relatives with their financial needs. Each of the financial situations was very different. Attorney Harbach was an invaluable help to us, and them, in setting up an estate plan for each.
