As an attorney my goal is to help my clients navigate the legal process in the most fair and equitable manner with the least amount of stress possible for the client and their children. However, I don't rose-color the situation for my clients. I believe in honesty and integrity in my practice and do not bend in that regard. Part of being a good lawyer, in my opinion, is being able to tell a client when they are not being reasonable or when their expectations are skewed. As attorneys we do not have a crystal ball to know what the future may bring, but we can certainly stand by them as they walk through the tunnel to the other side. I'd like to think my clients see me as someone they can trust to walk them through that tunnel.
When I'm not practicing law, I prefer to spend my time with my husband and kids. In the winter, we ski; in the summer, we're at the ball park. I think it's important for children to see their parents volunteering, so I volunteer with the legal clinic here in Eau Claire, our local baseball league, church, and sit on the board of Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
I endorse this lawyer. Heather Pauls is a very skilled attorney, and is very knowledgeable in the area of family law. She consistently treats her own clients and opposing counsel with respect and dignity. She handles each case with care, and works diligently and efficiently to get the best outcome possible for everyone involved so that families can move on as easily as possible from difficult situations. I refer not only family matters to Heather Pauls, but also bankruptcy matters.
Emily Long, Family Attorney on Aug 25, 2015
Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
Attorney Heather Pauls is a pleasure to work with. She is knowledgeable as to the law and will seek the best resolution for her client, but she does so in a manner which reduces conflict between the parties. This is especially important where children are involved. I have no hesitation in recommending Ms. Pauls.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
Heather Pauls is an excellent attorney. She is incredibly knowledgeable in the areas of family law and bankruptcy. This is evident in her large caseload with everything from simple Guardian ad Litem work to complicated divorces. She is a pleasure to work with, even when she is on the opposing side. Her easy going personality aids her clients as other attorney's are able to negotiate deals without needing to go to court. If a deal cannot be made, Heather is excellent in the courtroom as she is familiar with courtroom procedure and will not succumb to pressure from adversary counsel. Heather is genuinely a good person as she cares about her clients as well as her community. Heather volunteers on many various boards in the community and lends a hand at the free legal clinic. I consider Heather a top-notch attorney and person.
