Glenn E. Avena

Glenn was helpful from the first day I called, and the first time we met to discuss my case. I was being unlawfully charged for a DUI, when someone had called for a welfare check on me due to some suicidal tendencies, after being in an abusive relationship, quitting my job, grieving the loss of loved... ones, etc. Glenn made me feel very welcomed and comfortable since the first time I met him. He was very genuine, and empathetic and I knew he was a lawyer who really cared about his clients. Glenn and I went over my full case whole heartedly, it was hard to tell a stranger, and open up about the truth of what I had been suffering and enduring at that specific time in my life, but he was very understanding. He believed that I was unlawfully being charged as well, and that we had a case to fight, and a case to WIN here, in which we ensued for 8 long months. Glenn was always available via text and or phone call, unless he was in court; and if that was the case he was always the first person to get back to you at his earliest convenience. Glenn and I both kept in contact in regards to court dates, and they continuously kept getting pushed back. We finally got a set trial date for February 2017, I spoke to him on the phone in regards to this, and still wanting to move forward,(as he always values his clients opinions first) I had met with him in the beginning of the month, we went over everything that occurred during the whole duration of the day/evening/and night of the incident, how poorly I was treated by the police while in the hospital while doing their unwarranted and unnecessary tests, and all the stress, grief, and abuse I was also under at that time. Glenn then decided he wanted to put me on the stand, because I'm a strong witness to my own case, and I'm and honest person. I wish that all would have happened... But about a week before my trial, the Assistant DA offered to drop DUI and BAC charges, and give me an inattentive driving ticket instead. $384.00 or so, or I could still take it to trial; but having the one small risk of losing and having to pay over $1,000 in DUI charges, and having my license suspended, etc. I had/still have GREAT faith in Glenn as an attorney, but having and pursuing the degrees I am I cannot afford to have a DUI on my record.
