I went to Jody with a custody battle and was very afraid when doing this. I explained the while situation to her and was thrilled with her detailed plan on to tackle this. I followed her directions step by step and the case was eventually withdrawn from the mother. If you hire her, follow exactly wha...t she tells you and you will be very satisifed. My last review of attorney Jody Usow was quite positive. She made changes that seemed impossible to make. Well today was supposed to be the final trial date. After some deceptive manoeuvering from the other side it still goes on. I thought it would never be over. JODY however had already had plan pri...or to court just for this situation. The attorney's went into the judge's chambers and in less than an hour came out with paperwork changing temporary primary placement to myself! Yes we had to go through the process but I never thought this would become a reality. We go back to court in about 4 months. But I feel confident that Jody will have everything taken care of. It's a good feeling to have this level if confidence in your attorney. If your in search of a real attorney that will definitely come through for you I'd without hesitation recommend Jody Usow! I retained Jody better than halfway through a placement/custody issue. When Jody took on the case the GAL did not take a Doctor's opinion nor any of the verified paperwork I presented to him to prove the issues I was having with my son's mother seriously. After looking over the papers and speaking wi...th the Doctor SHE initiated a meeting with all the attorneys along with the Doctor. She set things up very well at that meeting for our court date. We went to court a few days ago (unfortunately we were unable to finish) and I was quite amazed as to how she managed to turns things in our direction! Obviously I don't know what the end result will be. Whatever it is I now have piece of mind that I've done the best I could for my son. Jody opened up eyes I thought were closed to a father. She is without a doubt an attorney that you can have full confidence and piece of mind with. I will post the outcome....

No one who gets married ever intends on getting divorced. I know that I certainly was one of those that thought, "this is going to last forever." Without getting into too much depth about my situation: I was married for 10 years when there came a time that I found myself standing back and thinking..., "what am I doing here? This isn't what marriage was supposed to be like. I can't let my kids grow up thinking that what's going on here is normal. I am, and deserve, better than this." I met with Attorney Usow at her office. Attorney Usow listened to my concerns, gave straight- forward responses, and worked in the best interests of my children and myself. She responded to phone messages in a timely manner. At each court appearance, Attorney Usow was prompt and well- prepared. After court, Attorney Usow took the time to speak with me- making sure that I understood the events that had just occurred. Divorce is not an easy thing to go through. Jody, I want to take a moment to say, "Thank you very much". I feel like the greatest weight in the world has been lifted off my shoulders. My ex and I did not get along even years after our divorce. She did whatever she could to try to make life for me & my new family miserable. She tried to b...reak me financially any way she could even if it was only in nickels & dimes. She even tried to keep the children in a poor school just for control reasons. Three or four years ago, you & I 1st met to discuss my options & chance of success at having the courts see my point of view and get the kids out of their old school. At that time, things did not look promising. However, you laid out a plan that you thought would give me the best chance. It was a long shot. You suggested that among other things I try to get them into therapy and hope the therapist forms a professional opinion that would be in their best interests. It was long in coming, but I patiently looked for the right time & the right way to use your advice even though we were faced with strong negative behavior by the youngest. Eventually things came together. Today, the Therapist as well as my ex have remarked on the amazing change in the attitude & behavior of this child. Recently, we received the 1st report card after a complete quarter’s attendance at the new school. It showed all "Bs" and "Cs" which is a huge change from all the "F"s prior to the change in school & placement!! Between the improvement in school (& my child’s much happier attitude) and the improvement in the Child Support situation, I am so happy. It was very frustrating for my current wife & me to have virtually no control over the downward spiral this child was in. Our hands seemed to be tied. No matter how I tried to be positive about all the issues between us, the harder my ex fought or stonewalled me. Money was not the issue for me. I would have liked to see the amount I was paying decreased, but my priority was trying to give my kids the best opportunities I could afford. Between your advice & the manner in which you handled this case, I feel like I have won the biggest lottery ever! I just wanted to let you know how truly grateful I am to have had you represent me & my family. I felt like this was my last chance to positively change this child's current & future life. You have truly been a life preserver for my family as well as a lifesaver for this child. I will tell this story to all of my family, friends, & acquaintances.
