Jody L. Usow

Attorney Jody L. Usow is an experienced litigator in Family, Civil and Criminal law. She has tried hundreds of cases in Wisconsin Circuit Courts since 1986 and specializes in these three practice areas.

• Family Law
  Divorce, child custody, child support, placement, paternity and domestic violence/ restraining orders In addition to representing private clients, Ms. Usow is regularly appointed as a Guardian ad Litem in the interest of minor children by local Circuit and Childrens Courts and is a member of the Collaborative Law Council of Wisconsin.
  
  
• Criminal Law
  Criminal felony and misdemeanor defense, municipal and criminal traffic defense. While Ms. Usow tries a variety of criminal and misdemeanor cases she has additonal experience in the areas of domestic violence and sexual assault including both adults and minors. Cases also include drug-offences, OWI, theft and traffic.
  
  
• Civil and Corporate Law - 
  Contract enforcement and disputes, insurance claims and defenses, general civil litigation, large and small claims actions and collections.

Jody's unique experience in these three practice areas means that the overlap, for example, between Family and Criminal law, can provide clients with representation on multiple fronts. It is increasingly common, for example, that a party in a family case may also need representation in a related case, such as criminal domestic violence, or a restraining order, at the same time.

Attorney Usow has broad experience trying cases before juries and courts throughout Wisconsin, with a primary focus in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee and Racine Counties.
