Judith M. Bostetter Buchs

Judy Bostetter Buchs practices real estate law, estate planning and administration, and civil litigation.

Her real estate practice includes representation of both commercial and residential buyers and sellers from offer to closing. She has participated in thousands of real estate closings in her career, and she prides herself on offering the same thoughtful, prompt and courteous service to corporate clients and first-time homebuyers alike. She handles loan closings for mortgage lenders and has represented real estate brokers, condominium associations, homeowner’s associations, real estate developers and contractors.

Judy’s estate planning practice includes drafting wills, trusts, and durable powers of attorney as well as advising clients on advance directives and powers of attorney for health care. She has handled both formal and informal probate matters in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington and Kenosha counties. Judy believes that thoughtful estate planning can alleviate uncertainty and reduce disputes among family members when a loved one passes away.

Judy’s broad experience in transactional real estate and estate administration compliments her litigation practice.  Her knowledge of one informs the other, allowing for well-drafted contracts and insights into litigation matters that come from years of experience in the subject matter.  While she believes that a mutually-agreeable resolution is generally best for the parties, she has successfully represented clients in court trials, jury trials, arbitration, and appeals.
