Professional, Personable, Knowledgeable, Efficient

I hired Scott for my custody case and I was not disappointed. My children’s father filed a petition to take them from me. I hired Scott to handle this matter for me, because their father was never around. I was shooting for supervised visits so my kids could get to know him, he made that happen. I sh...ot for full physical care and we were on our way to that, after I went for full physical care their father actually voluntarily signed his rights over and today my husband adopted them. Scott is very professional, personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. He never strayed off my case even with multiple cases going or put up with bs. Everything was handled in a fast and professional manner. The first time I went to speak with Scott I had both my children with me and when I was getting ready to leave he was rolling around on the ground with them playing peekaboo making them laugh. He is worth the money he asks for. Because of him I’m able to continue to give my kids the lives they deserve and they don’t have to be confused. If I ever need a lawyer again for anything, I will be hiring Scott no questions asked. He’s a top notch attorney and I will recommend him over and over again. Thank you so much Scott!

Child Custody

I had a previous attorney in my custody battle and felt I was getting demolished. Soon as I fired him and hired Scott the whole thing turned my way. The momentum picked up and he was in charge of the show. I felt more relief after hiring Scott. He is fierce. Needless to say in a short amount of time ...we were signing for me to have Sole Custody.. I recommend to anyone who ask about attorneys. Very pleased and felt the weight off my shoulders once hiring Scott

child custody

I consulted with Scott Shroeder in the past with a child custody in 2008 and he did an excellent job with representing me. Infact i was awarded physcal custody of my first son thanks to his expertise and dedication to my case. Eight years later i found my self in distress with a similar case a bit mo...re difficult than the first one. No matter what the case is this man is like a lion fierce and competitive. On January Friday the 13th he represents me once agin and hit another home run. I am lucky to say that i have full sole custody of my baby girl Isabel. Scott Shroeders expertise and his years of professional skill won this case for the second time in my life and no doubt if i have to use him agin i will. A special thank you goes out to Scott Shroeder.

Avoid

I retained Mr. Schroeder for my child custody battle. Legal representation was strained. Deadlines were not communicated effectively. I wasn't kept up to date. Emails from myself, and the opposing side would go unanswered for days. I spend good money on Mr. Schroeder, found another attorney that... did the same work he did for a fraction of the cost, and in a fraction of the time, and we resolved the case a lot sooner than Mr. Schroeder had projected, and with better outcomes that he told me to settle for. Mr. Schroeder was difficult at times to get a hold of via phone or email.

This client was particularly difficult, as he often refused to listen to 20+ years of legal experience. He complained about numerous aspects of the law, including child support guidelines, and blamed his attorney when the other side rejected his proposals. I have many, many e-mails and phone messages between client and counsel to refute this person's claim of lack of communication. An unfortunate example of a parent who placed more importance on the financial aspects of having a child and threatening the other parent's new significant other than focusing on resolving the case. The client's case was finalized within days of my withdrawal, and no other attorney entered an appearance on his behalf, so client's claim that he hired a new attorney for a fraction of the cost is, shall we say, lacking in credibility.

Competent and Effeciant

Scott has been my only attorney for around 9 years. I heard about him from a friend who refered to him as the best laywer in Burlington (along with his now partner Michael Clark). He first reperesented me in a child custody matter. Where I got everything I wanted and expected. He has taken good care ...of me as a client for years. He saw me at court one day and offered to appear for me and said I could go home. I don't think that case was even billed. If it was billed to me, he wrote the cost of it off of my custody case when I came up short by the end. Over the years I have highly reccomended Scott to friends who have asked. One such case where a friend of mine already had an attorney. My friend said their (his and his fiancé) attorney seemed, "in over his head" and was "being overrun" by the opposition. Once they fired their first attorney and hired Scott the momentum changed and the opposition was now willing to negotiate. Scott recently had my gun rights restored and in that case he argued passionately and more than made our case. Leading up to the hearing I was worried because Scott would often play devils advocate with me, arguing profusley with me and keeping my expectations in a realistic place. I belive that is his way of making sure that I, as a client, was prepared to argue my case, that we as a team had our points locked in, and that the facts would come together in a clear way. It can be difficult to see why your lawyer would argue against you in his office, but by doing that you do not go into court with nonsensical arguments making a fool of yourself and him. Scott is respected and a professional person. In the future I hope their will be no need for me to have a lawyer, but if I do Scott will be it. I could go on and on with example after example where Scott has been good to me weather it's billing situations where small amounts of money were discussed, or an instince where he saved me filing fees by creativley re-opening a case, saving time by being effeciant with his time. I think if you are looking for a competnent professional Scott would be it.
