Good lawyer

Sam is a nice guy he helped me with my housing situation and got me to feel that justice was served and made me feel not as bad about what took place. Nobody’s perfect but this guy is good and getting better

When Sam talks to you, you know he cares.

My son got accused of a crime, as a mother i knew the charges were against him from the beginning, i called every lawyer possible when the police called me and told me what he was accused of. Sam is the only one that called me back with in mins, and told me I’M not telling you this as a lawyer, I’m t...elling you this as a decent human being, and gave me the advise i needed. Because of that i trusted him from the beginning, and he believed in my son’s innocence. He took it upon himself to knock door-to-door to any witness that he was told that could help my son‘s case, he did more work with investigating the allegation then the actual police did. Sam treated us like people, not a pay check, and i will be forever grateful for the work he did and for always being straight forward. Sam did fight! And because he fought so hard for my son, my son gets to live his best life!

Stay away

I consulted with Mr. Woods in the hopes he would help us in a wrongful eviction matter. Instead mr. Woods decided to try to take advantage of a bad situation and ask for a 10k retainer and 250.00 per hour and said this will take a long time. We actually got the cases dismissed on our own in 10 minute...s. I would never contact this person again.

I take cases I believe have a high likelihood of success. I encourage everyone whose case I decline to seek an opinion from another attorney.

Bad attitude

Was referred to Sam and while talking on the phone he refused to let my boyfriend speak, he told him he should have taken an issue to small claims court when my boyfriend wasn’t calling about that issue, he was calling about a wrongful eviction that he was trying to appeal but this lawyer had his hea...d wrapped around the other issue (we only brought the other issue up to let him know the whole story) he then hung up after saying we should have taken them to small claims court. All we are doing is an appeal. If he had listened and didn’t interrupt then he’d know that.

All cases have legal time limits. Calling a lawyer early in the legal process can help avoid negative results.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
