Biography
I grew up in rural eastern Iowa where I learned the value of an honest day’s labor at my family’s farm and photography businesses. It’s these Iowa values that drove me to become an attorney and represent hardworking Iowans who are injured on the job or by some else’s negligence. Taking a no-nonsense approach, I fight to make sure my clients are treated fairly for the harms and losses they suffer on account of another's carless behavior. I don’t spin the truth or grandstand, instead I simply give the jury the facts and trust in them to do what is right by their conscience and for their community.
After working my way through college at the University of Iowa, I attended Creighton University School of Law. There, I earned a CALI Excellence for the Future award in Alternative Dispute Resolution by demonstrating my skills in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Over the eight years I was employed before becoming an attorney, I worked a variety of retail, customer service, and supply-chaining positions. These experiences give me insight into the unique problems faced by injured workers, and allow me to better represent my clients.
As a lifelong motorcyclist, I’ve spent many years riding the trails and back roads of rural Iowa. Growing up, one of my favorite places to ride was 600 acres in Ely. When I'm not working to make our state a safer place, I enjoy working on my project car, riding, and spending time with my family.
