Biography
I was born March 14, 1960 in Council Bluffs and am a fourth generation member of the Peters Law Firm in Council Bluffs. I began working full time for the firm in 1983 as a law clerk, joined as an associate in 1985, joined the firm as a partner in 1990 and have worked here continuously ever since. My practice is currently confined primarily to Iowa Workers' Compensation Claims on behalf of the Claimant, but I also handle claimant's cases in Nebraska. I also handle personal injury and automobile litigation. I am a member of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Iowa Association for Justice and I have been active in civic and community affairs including serving on the Westfair board for 17 years from 1988 to 2005. I am currently active in the Pottawattamie County Pheasants Forever Chapter and other civic organizations.

Slauter vs. Eaton Corp.
My overall experience as having Jake represent me was great. He was very professional yet on a level that made me feel comfortable. His knowledge regarding workman's compensation was extensive. The case took a bit longer than I had expected to be resolved, however I was pleased with the outcome.
