The ideal attorney!
We have been blessed to know attorney Scott Rogers of Peters Law Firm in Council Bluffs, Iowa, for more than 6 years. His guidance and compassion have been immeasurably valuable to us. Our parents were reasonably independent and living in their own house, thanks to frequent visits, meal preparations, housework, errands, and facilitating trips to doctors by their daughter Jeannine who lived an hour away. Mom had Alzheimer’s disease, so Dad did his best to handle her medications. Our Dad was secretive about their financial affairs, so we had very limited knowledge about their powers of attorney, wills, investments, and preferences for potential future living arrangements. Then at the end of 2014, Dad suffered his second broken hip from which he was never to fully recover. What had been some cognitive and memory problems collapsed into obvious dementia. Due to the severity of his physical and mental condition, and our Mom’s worsening Alzheimer’s disease, the doctors at the hospital would not release Dad until we had found a skilled nursing facility for both our parents. It was then that we contacted our parents’ attorney, Scott Rogers. Scott immediately stepped up to bat for us as we were thrust into the labyrinth of decisions and actions we needed to take on behalf of our parents. He continually guided us through the process of making the best possible decisions for our parents, and through the actions needed to initiate those decisions. He helped us locate and act on their durable powers of attorney, medical powers of attorney, wills, and trust documents. He was always there for us as we decided on our parents’ future living arrangements, found the best skilled nursing care for them, pulled assets from their accounts to pay their bills, arranged for the sale of their house and cars, and prevented them from driving. As our Dad and then our Mom eventually passed away, Scott provided critical advice and guidance in handling their affairs. We also greatly appreciate Scott’s personal support, even to the extent of a funeral home visitation upon our Dad’s death. Scott has been God sent. Without him, we would not have known what questions to ask, let alone how to answer them. His professional guidance, his personal compassion, and his overall support were far more than we expected. In the strongest terms possible, we highly recommend attorney Scott Rogers. John Bauman and Jeannine Christensen

Updating our end-of-life documents
After moving from Nebraska to Iowa, it was time to update our, my wife and myself, end-of-life documents. A friend recommended Mr. Rogers. He was very prompt getting back to me when I called and in less than a week we met together to do the work. Mr. Rogers was very helpful in guiding us through the process and suggesting changes where appropriate. The first meeting lasted 90 minutes but at no time did we feel rushed. He was very thorough, professional, personally engaging and evidenced concern for our situation. Our experiences with an attorney were very limited but he immediately put us at ease and our dialogue was focused and comfortable. Our return visit to review the documents was to-the-point with an atmosphere of cordiality and effeciency. We were very pleased with Mr. Rogers and can call him both "friend" and "counselor."

Scott Rogers handled my father's probate with excellence and care. He was very understanding of our lack of knowledge of the process, but explained each step thoroughly. He took action as needed and required and gave us confidence that my father's wishes were carried out. I highly recommend Scott.

Living Trust
Scott was a great deal of help in helping us make the proper decisions regarding our estate plan. We originally thought we would be getting a trust done and he enlightened us on all of the other things that were needed to properly make good decisions on how to plan for the unfortunate things that could happen. We are very pleased with our decision to hire Scott to help us.

Outstanding Experience with Scott Rogers
Our attorney had retired and we were looking for an attorney to review our estate and plan for the future. We attended a seminar where Scott Rogers was one of the presentors. We liked what we heard and saw, and visited with him afterward. We then talked with other people in the community and also with our banker until we found people that he had done work for. In each instance we were given an outstanding recommendations. We set an appointment and met with him in his office. He gathered the facts about our situation first, and then made recommendations that would be applicable to our situation. We visited with our banker and financial advisor. Everything meshed and we went forward and had the estate planning completed. Our next meeting was in his office again where the documents were presented. Again everything was done in a very professional manner and all preparations were complete. We are very satisfied with the work done for us by Scott Rogers and look forward to working with his office in the future. We would highly recommend Scott Rogers for legal work.

Personable & Trustworthy
Scott has been our family and extended families' attorney since we moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa in 2000. He has updated our Wills, Family Trust docments and been available for consultation and decision making assistance whenever we wanted to get his opinion. A couple of the times he cheerfully permitted us to interrupt his family vacation to give us advice. Within the past month we refinanced a rental property which was a part of our Family Trust. A "Groan" was my first verbal interaction with the Bank's Mortgage Loan Processor when she heard about the Family Trust holding the Loan. The impressive part of this refinance occurred just before the closing. The Loan Processor called to inform me that the refinance was finalized and how grateful she was for his professionalism. All went smoothly and that she wanted me to know how very helpful he was in assisting the process to completion.

Legal Services Review
In my line of work as a bank trust officer, I have worked with Scott numerous times, and have referred several clients to him. When it came time to do my own estate planning, I turned to Scott for his legal assistance and advice. Scott has a thorough knowledge of estate planning law, and has the ability to explain things in a manner that makes it easy for the client to understand. Scott was professional, personable, and timely. My wife and I were both very pleased with how Scott handled our situation, and we felt very comfortable working with him. I would highly recommend Scott, regardless of whether your legal situation is fairly simple or quite complex.

Real Estate transaction, Will, and set up of LLC
Scott has helped me with legal help in a Real Estate transaction, a personal will and set up an LLC with my partners. He has always been professional and at the same time given me great suggestions on options to consider that was in my best interest. I know that when I bought RE property he recommended an abstract and helped clean up several discrepancies with the property lines and possible risks that needed attention with releases and clearer language. He has always looked out for my personal interests and will do the extra things that only an attorney would think of. I would highly recommend Scott as your attorney.
