Jake is is a great attorney. He settled my case using a very methodical process. He always returned my calls or emails in a prompt manner and answered all my questions as needed. He kept the process simple an concise. He obtained a better outcome for my case than I expected!

Injured on the job.

After a severe injury on the job I started running the maze of WC adjusters and Doctors. I had the gullibility to believe that the WC adjuster was fair and straightforward. I was wrong. One surgery later and three months off work later I finally contacted Jake. I never really trusted insurance compan...ies before, but now, I will never even give them the benefit of doubt. Jake found numerous mistakes in their handling of my case. He had them correct them with interest. When complications developed from the surgery, I had to go to the ER. All of a sudden the adjuster decided to disagree with the ER Dr. and the Dr that preformed the surgery. The adjuster sent a rather nasty letter essentially stating that they were not liable for the ER visit and there was no way that this was connected to the original injury. Of course I had to sue them. I am not a person that has ever sued or even thought I would ever have to. In the end, Jake negotiated to have the Drs paid off in full, a fair settlement (according to the guidelines) with interest and to keep the claim open for future medical care to be paid for by the insurance company. I hold Jake Peters in the highest regard. He is very straightforward, honest and knowledgeable. If I am ever injured again he will be my first call.

Shoulder Injuries

After both shoulders were injured and the 2nd one needed re-repaired suddenly my company which was self insured, brought in another insurance company and assigned me an advocate who frankly told me this was all to try to save the company from higher damage costs. After seeing the amount they all wish...ed to give me, I went to Jake Peters showed him all my paperwork from the first injury through the second injury to the current time. He agreed they were trying to get over on me and the process began as my free consultation then became a contract agreement. My employer then, as soon as I talked to their attorney promptly and permanently laid me off. Be prepared for this. You can't just sit back and waite. You have to do some homework for your case and help get the ducks in a row so to speak. For me it was more the principle of the situation. They were going to go to a LOT of expense to try to give me just a little??!! So I was angry and frustrated by these shenanagens. Ask questions - any and all questions from how they figure what you get percentages to when they have to start paying if you win. My advocate lady was telling me I would get more than I could ever imagine after what I went through. Umm No. About one third actualy of what I had conjured in my head. It was however better than the pittance of pennies they were trying to give me. So do not be afraid to ask questions as answering them is part of his job. Ask yourself questions to - like are you prepared to lose your job over this etc. Weigh all things against all things and let the checks and balances make your decision for you - NOT emotions.
