Mr. Schneider maintains his law practice at the Law Office of Charles J. Schneider, P.C. in Livonia, Michigan, where he has worked exclusively in the field of consumer bankruptcy since 1984. He manages an exclusive practice averaging 30 chapter 7 and chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy cases per month. Mr. Schneider has been certified and re-certified in consumer bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute since 1995. Mr. Schneider received his B.A. and his J.D. degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Schneider is a member of the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees (NACTT); the Detroit, Livonia, and Oakland County Bar Associations; Consumer Bankruptcy Association; National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys; and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). He has participated as a contributor, speaker, and panelist on ABI, NACTT, ICLE and One Path Practice Management Advisors panels regarding the representation of debtors in bankruptcy cases. Mr. Schneider is a contributing author to ICLE's "Handling Consumer and Small Business Bankruptcies." He is also a contributing author to the Thomson Reuters/Aspatore Inside the Minds Series publications "Best Practices for Chapter 13: The Cases, Clients and Challenges Of Filing A Chapter 13: A Forward Looking Approach" and "Strategies For Consumer Bankruptcy Appeals: The Nuances Of The Consumer Bankruptcy Appeal Process." He has a peer review rating of AV in bankruptcy by Martindale-Hubbell since 2010. He was selected by Thomson Reuters as a Michigan Superlawyer from 2011 to 2015. In 2015 he was awarded the Member of the Year Award for Jurisprudence by the Consumer Bankruptcy Association of Detroit. Mr. Schneider is a previous U.S. National Fencing Champion and a former member of five U.S. National Fencing Teams representing the United States at the World Championships in Epee Fencing.

Replied last May 30, 2017Thank you for your outstanding review and your patience with the legal system on getting your money back from a collecting attorney who should have known better than trying to retain his garnishments. Those who file bankruptcy don't know that a red light is put up to tell collectors to stop collecting on the debt. The attorney that you hire should not also be the cop to enforce the red light. In this case we were. We were also fortunate to be able to make the collection attorney pay us to make him stop. We were happy to be the cop as well.
