Hired Scott in November, 2014 to help me with my sister's estate. Was told he would get with me in two weeks. All I got was silence. Called the office and was told he would call me with an update the next day. He never returned my call. Called repeatedly, no return calls. Fast forward 8 months, final...ly heard back from him. Met with him and re-signed the same papers and he said he would touch base in two weeks. I asked him what happened and he seemed to get mad and said, "I had staffing issues and it was not my concern." July 2015 was the last time I heard from him. All attempts to contact him failed. He closed his Troy office in November, 2015.

We hired Scott over 1 1/2 years ago to complete a bankruptcy for my brother in law. Everything was fine at first, then he dropped the ball. Back in August 2015 I filled out paperwork and paid for a conservatorship for a member of my family, that I was told would take approximately 6 weeks to complet...e. Those 6 weeks came and went while not once did he return any of my phone calls I left asking for a status update. When he did return a call I was told his assistant was picking up the finished paperwork from the court house but that never seemed to happen. Scott was becoming very difficult to reach. From January 4, 2016 to March 15, 2016, he chose not to return any of my 14 text messages, numerous phone calls and emails. When he finally did respond to my text that stated I was contacting another attorney, he apologized and swore he would be the attentive attorney I thought I hired. On March 18th I filled out the paperwork again after he told me the petition was declined back in September 2015, this was the first I was told of that. (I have documentation of him stating his assistant was picking up the finished paperwork from the courthouse numerous times between September and December of 2015) That was the LAST time I heard from him. I sent 11 more text messages, left phone messages and sent emails all for him to not return or complete the job he was paid for back in August. Since I couldn't reach him I had a friend call and leave a message as if she was a potential new client. On June 10th he returned her call but as soon as my name was mentioned he hung up! So immature and very unprofessional! He was paid whatever dollar amount he asked for while never providing a bill or receipt when asked. EVERYTHING IS DOCUMENTED, I HAVE A VERY DETAILED PAPER TRAIL! He has left me no choice other than to make a formal complaint with the Attorney Grievance Commission. He owes me money for a job he did not complete. He should be ashamed of himself. The only thing I wanted was for him to complete the job he was paid for. I don't understand how he can run a business like this, scamming people out of money! He is the one that is supposed to protect people from scammers not be the scammer. That is why I need the conservatorship for my family member, he has been scammed, ironic isn't it. Taking payment for services that you have no intention on performing is criminal. If I can bring charges against him I will. You are warned, don't be fooled by the other reviews like I was. Find another attorney.

We hired Scott earlier this year to handle a conservatorship for a family member of mine that is mentally handicapped. In the beginning the salesman pitch was strong and he talked a good game but in the end all we were left with was Scott being paid in full, never returning our phone calls, us having... to look for another attorney and now consider legal action against him. Ultimately he is no better than a common criminal that robs you on the street, he does it sitting behind a desk wearing a tie. I have full documentation of all the factual events regarding my brothers case and intend to pursue it to the fullest extent allowable by law. If your considering hiring Scott think again.

For more than 10 years Scott has helped me and my family members with several legal issues. He always takes time to answer my questions and has even dropped off paperwork for my mom at our house, since she is older and doesn't drive. He is professional, Kind, patient, and would recommend him to any...one who needs a lawyer.
