Takes money and runs no results......

I am a disabled MS patient with vision and associated problems and I sought the help of Bowyer, Mitgard, and Nacy law firm through ADAM. At our first meeting I explained I did not have access to funds or financial records but needed assistance and protection from verbally abusive spouse and situation.... John Mitgard and firm reassured me they could handle the divorce proceeding and that in order to protect myself I needed to file for divorce, and they would help me through it. I was quoted a price for the divorce proceedings and told it may cost a little more than the amount quoted. I paid 1500 down to hire the firm and was assigned Mary Ann Kirsbaum as a lawyer. Here it is nearly two months later I have paid 4500 total and suddenly find myself without a lawyer. Apparently the cost of divorce was going to balloon to 9000 dollars and since my soon to be ex declined to pay they recused themselves from the case. Judge allowed it unsure what to do now. Thanks for protection.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
