OUTCOME: My client prevailed at the Court of Appeals, with the appellate court affirming the trial court's ruling that the child's father had not demonstrated "proper cause or change in circumstance" necessary to modify child custody.

I represented the prevailing party in a published Michigan Court of Appeals case, Dumm vs. Brodbeck, 276 Mich App 460 (2007), which involved the issue of "proper cause or change in circumstance", which ... is the legal threshold that a party must be able to demonstrate has been met before the trial court can entertain a party's' motion to modify child custody.
