Never hire this guy

I hired Bert to handle my simple divorce. He was incredibly rude and condesending. I had no idea of the process of divorce and he made the entire time even worse. I would NEVER tell anyone to use him.

Life changing results from Bert Whitehead and his Team!!!!

I highly recommend the services of Access Legal Care Law Firm and specifically attorney Bert Whitehead and his team. Throughout my custody hearings, they provided exceptional guidance and support, ensuring that I had a clear understanding of the process and assisted me in filling out the necessary pa...perwork accurately and submitting it on time. One aspect that impressed me was their attentiveness to my needs and preferences. Despite their busy schedule, they always made sure to allocate time for my phone calls, which was included in the payment. I initially found the strict time window for calls a bit disconcerting, but Attorney Whitehead promptly addressed all my concerns and ensured that I received the necessary attention and guidance. What I appreciated most was the transparency in terms of payment. Whether it was a straight upfront payment or a payment plan, they provided a clear rate, ensuring that I knew what to expect. Despite opting for a payment plan, the level of service and dedication extended to me was no different from those who paid in full. Attorney Whitehead and his team were meticulous in their approach to my case, going above and beyond to set me up for success. They ensured that I understood my responsibilities and provided updates on the progress of the case, including reminders and calls the night before court hearings to ensure my preparedness. Although I never met Attorney Whitehead in person, our communication through Skype and phone calls made me feel like he was my personal attorney. The entire team at Access Legal Care works tirelessly, often working seven days a week, demonstrating their commitment to their clients. They genuinely care about achieving the best possible outcome, regardless of payment plan or payment in full. They never left me hanging and consistently provided assistance and support throughout the ups and downs of the case. Attorney Whitehead and his team are not only proficient in navigating the legal system but also in finding cost-saving alternatives to reach a favorable resolution. They understood the gravity of my case and approached it with efficiency, grace, and precision. I cannot express enough gratitude for the positive impact they had on my life. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, I was able to achieve my desired outcome, although it did take some time and patience. I fully believe that no other lawyer could have done a better job, even if I had paid them in full. Access Legal Care, led by Attorney Bert Whitehead, is an outstanding law firm with a compassionate and skilled team. If you are in need of legal assistance, I strongly encourage you to reach out to them. I have personally tried various internet sites, consulted with different lawyers and experts, and Access Legal Care stands out as the best choice. They will make the seemingly impossible possible and restore your hope in a successful outcome. They certainly did that for me, and I will forever be grateful. Thank you once again to Burt Whitehead and the entire team. Stay blessed and stay great! Sincerely blaise

Property case that is in the family name for 74 years.

Mr. Whithehead don't wast your money he's a loser. In many ways . He was our attorney for 3 plus years. Over that period of time unlimited phone calls may 5 times. He never called on his own or asked any questions. We paid him for a trail where we could talk. We never got to say a word on zoom .... The paper work I got back was just and oral argument that maybe last 1 hour. Mr Whitehead had surveys good and bad and exhibits we sent him before the Zoom argument Mr Whitehead calls a know all attorney here Said I could of won if Mr Whitehead would of knew what he was doing. Plus my surveyor attorney wrote Mr Whitehead a nasty letter the State investigation seen it also . Mr Whitehead made me pay for taxes and a dollar for and dead autumn olive bush In Michigan Now autumn olive are against the law to sell or transplant and etc. A deed autumn olive was the only thing I cut. Plus looking at the tax papers the other attorney was cheaper and better. The state of Michigan Court of Appeals said there was several things in the case that was not brought up. Again we was there and could not talk only Mr Whitehead Our league only advisor. And a loser

Hi. I am not surprised that this client wrote a poor review, but only because he was not happy with the outcome, and not because we did anything less than an excellent job. At a very affordable cost compared to other law firms (who would have cost well over $20k for the entire case and appeal, and we cost a fraction of that) we took the case through every phase of his defense to keep a very tiny and remote portion of his very large farm property that was the subject of a land survey dispute with a neighbor. At the end of the day, the other party had superior surveys, the lower court and Appeals court felt the law favored the other party's position and surveys, and it is not true that any argument was missed in our appeal, nor did the Appeals court say anything was missed. In a case like this, there will always be a winning side and a losing side, and the losing side will often then feel that their attorney was the problem when in fact many times, as is with this case, the client's problem was that the law and facts were simply not on their side, despite a valiant argument to the contrary. Given how many cases and appeals I have won (many), I am confident in how we handled this case, at much lower costs than typical attorneys. Thank you for the ability to respond.

Takes your money and does not respond to email.

I feel like this place is not very professional. I paid all my fees of $2395 in 3 payments and then they took 2 payments of $99 for continued service plus the filing fees and every other fee and my wife and I decided to work things out and I dropped the case and have emailed several times to see if ...I could get a partial refund being there was only 5 video court dates for about 10 minutes each and the attorney would contact me the day of court to “make sure we were on the same page”. I’m not expecting to get a full refund, but when they don’t even respond to my emails to discuss the matter I don’t think it’s very professional for a firm that is supposed to be in the Legal profession. I figure at tops maybe 3 or 4 hours total was spent by them taking information and filing the forms and then I have emails sent to me that was for other clients which Is very unprofessional. I don’t understand why they feel it’s okay to keep money that wasn’t earned. Very disappointed in the service and lack of service I received. I used them, because I thought they were reasonable and a legit firm by their reviews, but I’m sure they don’t post any negatives to make them look better than they are!!!!!!

First of all, this was not my client, so this review should not have been posted on my Avvo profile. The attorney for this client is another attorney at our firm. Second, though, I did find out from that attorney what happened here. The client signed up for full representation in March2022 which includes unlimited legal advice, all of their hearings throughout the case, unlimited negotiation with the opposing attorney, plus preparing, filing, and serving a Petition for dissolution of marriage AND preparing, filing, and serving an emergency ex parte order for temporary custody, which was granted after a hearing. The cost that the client agreed to was $2395 and then $99 per week for as long as the case continued. We filed the Petition for Dissolution and the Petition for Emergency Ex parte order for temporary custody, which was granted after a hearing on 4/8. We worked to get the OP party served on 4/27, we were successful, and the OP filed an answer. We filed proof of service. After only a couple payments of the $99 per week, despite the client agreeing to keep paying $99 weekly payments for all of these unlimited services (advice, negotiation, hearings, review of pleadings, responses to pleadings), he then started complaining about paying the $99 per week (which he agreed to), so we literally stopped it after only two payments as a kind gesture. Despite that, the attorney at our firm continued to represent him for no additional costs for MONTHS more, without getting paid any more money from client. Thus, the client, although agreeing to get all kinds of unlimited services for modest up-front payment and weekly payments, then reneged on his contract with his attorney and our firm. After the first three hearings that his attorney at our firm attended, the court then ordered mediation. His attorney prepared the mediation order and filed it with the court. The parties held mediation which was partially successful, and both parties appeared for the fourth zoom conference on 7/11. Discovery cutoffs were discussed and the case was continued to 8/11. Meanwhile the attorney at our firm was contacted by the opposing party's attorney and discussed the case at length. On 8/8 the client notified us to tell us that the Respondent was firing her attorney and they were reconciling. The attorney at our firm reported that the parties were reconciling at the 8/11 (5th) hearing and that he would be filing a Motion for Voluntary Dismissal, which we prepared and filed; case was dismissed on 8/22. So now, this client, who would have paid any other firm at least $3500 MINIMUM retainer, non-refundable to START a case, and would have by now racked up thousands more in fees, has only paid us a total of $2593, and yet we prepared/filed/served a Petition for Dissolution, prepared/filed/serve a successful Ex Parte order for Temporary Custody, prepared for and attended five ZOOM appearances, prepared and filed a mediation order, prepared and filed an order of dismissal, and provided unlimited legal advice and discussion with the other attorney, and NOW he is complaining that we didn't give him a refund? The nerve! If this client had stuck with his original agreement, and if WE forced him to stick to his original agreement, we should be sending him a bill for at least $1,500 more, which would STILL be a bargain compared to other typical attorneys. But some people don't mind agreeing to something, getting as much as they can out of it, pushing us on an "emergency" basis to get their ex parte orders filed, and then once they get value out of it, then trying to suddenly go back on their word. There is only one party in this situation who was jipped out of money, and it was this attorney who had to deal with this ungrateful client who refused to pay what he agreed to pay and now is even asking for a refund. Although I was not the attorney, I give this client ZERO stars. Bert Whitehead

Divorce Client

Access Legal Care has been a tremendous help to me with going through a divorce. Everything about Access Legal has been user friendly from the initial phone call, followed by email reminders and emails explaining the next step to take, and finally completing the initial intake paperwork. The direct...ions are very clear, however, if you do have questions, it's very simple to set up a phone call or to message through their client portal. I always received an answer the day of my questions. Every person involved at Access Legal was knowledgably, helpful, and supportive. When speaking with Bert Whitehead he always answered my questions and give me advice as to what needed to be done next or getting his comments on paperwork I completed myself, so they were accurate for the court. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for great affordable legal care. Thank you, Access Legal Care,

"I endorse this lawyer. This lawyer's contributions to this site are invaluable. I happily endorse this lawyer's work, ability and charity to those asking for advice. Further, I like to endorse good lawyers, because I find the AVVO rating system to be dishonest and corrupt. Frequently, disgruntled litigants on the opposing side (not your clients) will bash a lawyer on this site, pretending to be "your" client. When this situation is brought to AVVO attention, Avvo refuses to do anything to investigate and remove the false, slanderous "client" reviews. AVVO is a mean petty internet blog site trying to make money off of lawyers, and does not care if the public receives truthful information."
