Ron is a lifelong resident of Lake County. Graduated from Hobart High School in 1961 where he was the quarterback of the Hobart Brickies football team. He was appointed to and attended West Point and graduated in 1965 and was commissioned in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant. He was an Airborne Ranger in the Army and served in Vietnam. Ron was awarded two Army Commendation Medals, three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart for wounds received. After Vietnam, Ron resigned his commission to attend law school at Indiana University in Bloomington and graduated in 1972.
After practicing for the first ten years in general practice, including family law and criminal law, he concentrated his practice in the personal injury field, including auto, medical malpractice, workmans' compensation and other injury fields.
Ron has been a certified Mediator for over 15 years and has served on the Lake County Bar Association as a Chairman of the Civil Litigation Committee. He was elected by his fellow Lake County Lawyers to serve three terms on the County Judicial Nomination Committee which merit selects Judges recommended to the Governor to be appointed as Lake County Judges. Ron has served on the Lake County Grievance(Ethics) Committee for over 20 years.
