Highly recommended!

Stephanie Hahn and her Firm were, hands down, an asset to my case; definitely the best money I've spent on a professional level. Stephanie is a sophisticated Pitbull. She's the perfect combination of good cop, bad cop. Her professionalism combined with her being a straight-shooter is the treatment I ...needed to successfully get past a difficult time and situation. Not only did she win my case, but she and her team went above my expectations. If she personally couldn't provide me with an update or respond to my message, her team would pick up the phone and respond within 24 hours. She never misled me, and contrary to another review, she never made promises she couldn't keep. I highly recommend her!

Ms. Hahn Did Not Meet My Expectations

I initially spoke with and subsequently hired Ms. Hahn to represent me after being wrongfully terminated. In the beginning, I was very impressed. She was sympathetic, optimistic, and confident I had a case. I hired her for a flat fee. After I paid, I completed the assigned homework and returned it ...to the office. Ms. Hahn had warned me her firm might take as long as three months to get started, which I completely understood. After almost six months, I reached out to her firm for an update. She called me on the phone ~ two weeks later. Several more months passed, and then I was presented with the response to be filed on my behalf with the EEOC. I was pleased, and it felt good to finally be moving forward. My former employer refused mediation, and my case did not have enough hard evidence to support my version of events, per Ms. Hahn. This ended my dealings with both the EEOC and Ms. Hahn, unless I wished to retain her firm to sue my former employer outside of the EEOC. I did not. I understood the risk of not winning my case when I signed on with Ms. Hahn. I should have been more thoughtful and done more research before I hired her. An attorney is not required to file with the EEOC, I could have completed the work myself and submitted it much sooner, and I would have saved $12,000. When our relationship ended, I was mildly critical of how much it cost to enlist Ms. Hahn, and that she had addressed our end of contract letter to another person's name. Ms. Hahn very quickly responded to this. She did apologize for using the wrong name, then proceeded to berate me for several minutes. My specific issues with Ms. Hahn are how long it took after I paid for her to be in touch, her defensiveness when I questioned this, and her response to our final communication. I feel like my case was never a priority for her team, and any hint that I felt that way was met with defensiveness or outright hostility. I'm sure she will respond to this review the same way she did to the other negative reviews on this page. I hope she will take my constructive criticism to heart.

She's a costly mistake!

I'm suing my employer. Hahn told me I'd come to the right attorney and that I had a good case. She took 8 weeks to file an EEOC complaint, and never did anything beyond that! She even refused to identify herself to my employer as representing me, I called and called asking for the status of my ca...se. After 6 mos. her only action was writing the EEOC complaint...no contacting employer, no itemized bill, nothing! I paid her $8000-10000 for an EEOC complaint. After she angrily told me I had no case, I fired her, asked for an itemized statement and a refund. No statement, just a Check for $900 saying this is what it would cost to finish my case. Now I am suing her for malpractice.

We are sorry to learn that you are disappointed in the Firm’s representation and somewhat confused by your position given that the Firm helped you meet the goals you set when you hired the Firm. We advised you when you hired the Firm that we could not opine as to whether you had a “good” case because the outcome of your case would be based on the law and all of the facts - not just those you represented to us at the time of our initial meeting. We also told you that we would provide you with unvarnished advice. And we set out a basic time line to which you agreed. When you hired the Firm we requested some very basic information from you about your employment and your allegations. You eventually provided your materials to the Firm at a date later than promised, we timely completed our initial work product as agreed when you hired the Firm, and provided you with copies of everything we filed. You repeatedly ignored the Firm’s legal advice with respect to the confidentiality of your claims and the legal process and requested that the Firm engage in impermissible contact with a represented party. The Firm repeatedly explained to you that it is bound by the Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct and confirmed the procedural status of your claim. With the Firm’s assistance, you ultimately met your stated goals. Then, you asked the Firm to represent you in making additional claims, and the Firm declined. By August of 2020, the Firm suggested you retain new counsel, cooperated in transitioning your matter to another firm, and issued an appropriate refund of unearned fees.

Save your money!!!!!!!

When I first met with Miss Hahn she told me I had an excellent case and that she had tried many like it. After she had my money her tune started to change and suddenly my case was not so strong. Please be prepared to have a law degree of your own if you hire Miss Hahn, as I did most of the work mys...elf with little to no direction. I would not hear from Miss Hahn for months on end and then suddenly she would need something immediately and I was expected to hop right into action, even once when I was out of state on vacation. If I questioned Miss Hahn in anyway she became rude and condescending. I am very happy that our business is finally concluded and I would never use or recommend her to anyone.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
