Very Disheartening

Attorney Boyd was hired back in 2018 for a probate and guardianship case that turned into and estate for my now deceased aunt. Attorney Boyd represented me well in the beginning until she had gone MIA for about 7-8 months after the passing of my aunt. Attorney Boyd offered to file the estate for me t...hat literally turned into a nightmare for me. Her paralegal would contact me in the beginning and she was incompetent, she would have me completing the same information repeatedly. But, later I thought that attorney Boyd was handling everything. Whatever was needed to complete, I did it as far as signing all necessary documentation. As time progressed, I started not receiving any type of communication so, I decided to contact her to find out the status of the estate. I would contact her law office multiple times via phone without a response, just for her office to give me the run around. I sent her multiple emails without a response, and her colleagues were not any better. They had informed me to wait for her to contact me. As time progressed, still no response and I contacted her office requesting for my aunt's information so that I would be able to hire new counsel because I had a lot at stake. Then she called, I had expressed my concerns and what was at stake and I had informed her that I have not heard from her in over 7 or 8 months and she had neglected certain obligations pertaining to a very serious matter, and her response was just, you're right. I decided to give her another chance for it ending in backfiring on me. The duties that she stated that she would perform she never did. I was left an inheritance of 3 properties that were suppose to be transferred in my name, and she never did. I had to do it myself. Then her response was, you must've didn't do it right because letters are still coming to my office. Since I had expressed my concerns of what she was not doing she deliberately sabotage my entire inheritance. I ended up losing all 3 of my properties for her failure to do what she stated that she would do. I continuously asked her for an itemized bill and she only provided 2 within 6 years and each time I would ask, she failed to do so until the very end and she stated that I owed her over $40,000. I had to hire 2 additional attorneys because she never closed the guardianship as she stated and the estate is still opened 3 years post my aunt's passing. And I lost 3 of my parcels. I have reported her to the Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Indianapolis, IN and she is being investigated now. She was attending court hearings not informing after I asked her not to because I was seeking new counsel. She attended the hearings anyway and turned around and charged me for them, after I instructed her not to go. She received a large settlement amount from the probate case and I was not in attendance, deposited the check and sent the remaining to my new attorney instead of me. She kept the check for 3 mos. and would not return my calls or any form of communication and I had things to pay from the estate. Then she turned around and filed the same attorney fees that she already received in a different court in Lake County Indiana. This lady has caused me so much mental anguish, pain, and grief! But for what??? All because I had addressed my concerns to the matter and it still was not handled. I had a court hearing a she told me that she was not representing me a week before the hearing unless I pay her $5,000. She knew that she was getting paid from the estate and she tried to basically take it all. She stated, well you have 3 properties, but they're gone now. She has been my worst nightmare!!!! She did the same thing to another young lady and her family and she was reported to the BBB. She over charges and once I reported her to the Disciplanary Commission, then she gave me a credit of $800.00. I would not recommend her at all!!! Do your research.

Great Consultation

I had an initial consultation with a member of Amber Boyd’s office. After months of gaslighting by my manager and HR, it was really nice to speak to someone who “got it” - who understood what I was describing and could give advice on pursuing a case. Sometimes the parts that are most upsetting to an ...employee are very hard to pursue in court, but other things are easier. Speaking with someone experienced in the law helps clarify that . The office’s fee structure is also helpful. I checked with around 6 employment attorneys in the area, and this office had one of the more workable approaches - very important to someone who is out of a job and income due to wrongful termination.

The Best!

I would never have any hesitation in referring her. She has been absolutely amazing in handling my case. She has made this stressful time easier to get through and I am forever grateful for everything she has done for me and my family.
