I began my career as a registered nurse in 1982.  I loved taking care of patients.  A few years later, I went through a divorce and had a great attorney.  He helped me through a difficult process.  He inspired me to go to law school.  Now I get to help nurses through a difficult time.

I am a single mother of 3 chldren.  They are my inspiration.  They teach me everyday about patience and being present in the moment!

I love doing what I do and combining my love of nursing and healthcare with the law and being of service to people.

Couldn’t have done it without her
Lorie was excellent in coaching me through a meeting with the board of nursing. She helped me gather resources that would help my case, and ultimately helped me get a recommendation from the board that I receive my license without probation. Highly recommend to anybody in a similar situation.

I went to Mrs. Brown because I was having trouble to renew my license. She cooled me down quickly and directed me step by step. She worked with me after hours and was always available. She is sweet and calm. I followed every direction that she recommended. We finally got my license renewed.

State Board of Health Judge Hearing for Medical Negligence
I would highly recommend Lorie Brown to defend you if you have to sit in front of the State Board of Health. What I learned about nurses is that when you make a mistake or have an accident, there is no-one in your corner. You are all alone, so I thought. Then I was blessed to have found Lorie. She guided me through the process of what I was about to face. My advice to any nurse out there is Don't ever think It Will Never Happen to Me, and if it does happen to you, seek legal advice immediately. Do not think that everything will be alright.

Saving Grace
Lorie recently helped me through a case after more than a year of waiting on red tape that should not have been imposed on me. Even after the decision was made on my behalf, she stayed on top of the licensing board to issue my license in time to replace a crucial staff member. I was handled in less than two weeks instead of three months! She was kind and easy to communicate with. I am very glad I chose to reach out to her or I possibly would still be in a very unfair situation.

Never Give Up
The title speaks for itself, but let me clarify. When we first met Lorie a little over 5 1/2 years ago, we had no clue what the future held. We were scared, hurt, nervous, afraid, and so much more. We had no clue what the outcome was going to be, but we knew that we couldn’t give up. Lorie and her office staff never stopped working hard and including us in all the steps along the way. We were always informed of everything and a part of every decision, no matter how small or big, that was made. There is no way to thank Lorie and everyone at Brown Law Office enough for what they did for me and my family. Everyone, went above and beyond and we felt it! The outcome of our case was beyond what we ever expected. For that, we will forever be grateful for their hard work and dedication. I will 100% recommend Lorie and her team to anyone in the future!

Lorie and her team inspires me to continually strive forward to be better as a nurse and human.

Priceless Investment
I was recommended to Lorie and obtained her services, which helped to keep my employment and license intact. When I initially contacted her, she was so knowledgeable and giving of her time before retaining her. Once hired Lorie and her team went to work and got my issues resolved in about 48 hours. I highly recommend her services and would hire her again. You won't regret the investment of protecting your future. Lorie is all things nursing.

Lorie and her team were very professional. She sent me her book along with information about her law office. I read the whole book and then called to hire her. She immediately responded personally by zoom and told me upfront what the charges were and what they were for. She then listened to my story (HIPAA violation) and started a plan of action. She listed many things I needed to start doing right away. She communicated continually with the Attorney General's office, and submitted my work as she received them. As a result, the deputy attorney general did not need to see me in court, and the nursing board did not need to see me either. While i did have a $500 fine, 3 CEUs and 6 hrs of community service, i was relieved. I am very thankful to Lorie and her team for helping me through this difficult and scary process. I do highly recommend her services.

Back to work finally !
Lorie is a true advocate for nurses! I was able to clear my name from false allegations against me and my license. It was a very trying time, but I am happy to report that I am back to doing what I love after a year-long battle!

Thank you so much
Ive been a nurse 33yrs (LPN) and a veteran. I hired Lorie to handle a situation during an investigation at my facility after 12 days in limbo and stress. She was able to find out what I could not about the investigation and kept me in contact. When the initial settlement came through, I was not satisfied with what the facility was offering, within a few hours my desire to save my name, reputation and be compensated for my limbo status she was able to get them to agree. The office was fantastic and the staff there was more than kind. I would recommend her to anyone needing consultation. Thank you Lori and all the staff.

LIFE CHANGING AMAZING
Had an expunged case I didn’t know I had to let the IL IDFPR about. Ended up getting a letter from them saying I needed to explain everything with all the court papers. I am a newly graduated nurse and saw my world closing. Luckily I found Lorie, and answered thousands of my questions before I even retained her with lout getting angry which other lawyers had failed to do. After retaining her she continued to guide me and answer my other set of thousands of questions, FaceTimed me and was always available via any source of communication. I did everything she requested of me, and I got my license with no issue or questions from the state without any discipline at all, called her to let her know she continued to help me out by sending me links to videos on new nurses and things we weren’t taught in nursing school about how to protect and defend our license. I definitely can say I don’t think I would have gotten the same result without her help. Thank you so much Lorie, Chris H

Board of Nursing
Lorie Brown was incredible in preparing me for my appearance before the Indiana Board of Nursing. She walked me through each step of the process detail by detail. It was an absolute blessing that I happen to cross paths with Lori. I was truly hesitant about having counsel, but after reading myriad positive reviews I felt it was essential. Knowing what I do now, there is no way I would enter that environment without being appropriately prepped. Lorie, thank you for all of your dedication, hard work, and effort into helping me get a positive outcome. I was in sticky situation. There is no doubt in mind that without the help of Lorie Brown my license would have been placed on probation.

Registered Nurse
Lorie Brown has an expertise in nursing law. I had to appear in front of the nursing board and I did not have an attorney that specialized in nursing law, it was a nightmare to say the least. I personally think if I had started off with an attorney that specialized in nursing law, it would have saved me money, stress, and I believe my case matter would have been resolved in a more expedited manor. Lorie was able to give great direction in the steps I needed to complete to get my issue resolved. If anyone has to appear in front of the nursing board (for any reason), I would strongly recommend hiring Lorie Brown as their attorney! It will save you money, and subside the added stress during this process! Lorie Brown and her staff were great! I would recommend her to all of my colleagues that have any issues that could arise! I would also recommend nurses in Indiana to complete CEU's (even though not state required.)
