Choose a different lawyer

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Jessie Cobb-Denard during my custody case. Communication was consistently poor—emails often went unanswered, even when the issues were urgent and time-sensitive. I repeatedly raised concerns and made specific requests that were ignored or not addressed.... Preparation for court appeared minimal. Billing records showed very limited time spent preparing, which was reflected in how unprepared I felt my case was when it mattered most. I trusted that Jessie, my attorney would advocate for me and protect my parenting rights, but that did not happen. As a result, I not only lost custody, but my child also lost summer parenting time after I sent multiple emails requesting simple wording changes that were never handled. The consequences of this lack of responsiveness and follow-through were significant and deeply personal. I expected professionalism, diligence, and communication—especially in a case involving a child. Unfortunately, that standard was not met. PLEASE learn from my mistake of thinking she was the right lawyer for the job.

Great family law attorney

Jessie was great: easy to work with, responsive, and affordable. She was able to get me what five other attorneys (including a state rep!) were not able to: full physical custody of my children. I'd recommend her for people looking for an expert who can handle all the details and be strategic without... being overly aggressive.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
