Biography
Spangenberg partner Peter Brodhead has acted as counsel in several broad-based litigation matters, many of which were national in scope. Among these were the Copley Pharmaceutical, Inc. "Albuterol" Products Liability Litigation in which he served as trial counsel, and the Sulzer Hip Prosthesis and Knee Prosthesis Product Liability Litigation in which he served as one of the class counsel.
Peter has also litigated suits involving asbestos, welding fumes and other industrial exposures, and medical device cases such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and breast implants. Recently, he took a leading role in the MRI gadolinium contrast litigation on behalf of clients afflicted with nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) in both state and federal courts. This activity included extensive participation in the Gadolinium Contrast Agent Product Liability Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 1909) that was formed to address these cases.
In addition to unsafe pharmaceutical, medical device, and other product liability cases, Peter has handled catastrophic trucking and vehicular collisions, medical negligence, toxic torts arising from hazardous chemicals, civil rights, construction accidents and premises liability, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, and patent infringement.
