Experienced Tactician
As a Federal Government employee, I became the target of an Office of Inspector General (O.I.G.) criminal investigation. I found Ian Friedman after doing research on several sites for a Federal Criminal Defense attorneys in Cleveland, Ohio. One thing that I was impressed with was his success rate at jury trial. I looked at other attorneys but was shocked when I read reviews about them "dumping" clients in the middle of their case. Ian had a lot of client reviews who stated that he supported them throughout the entire case. I could not find one derogatory remark about his skills and abilities. After doing a Google search I came across some of his interviews on popular television shows such as The O'Reilly Factor and Piers Morgan. Next, I set up an initial consultation with Ian and his team. He made me feel very comfortable and confident that I had met with the right person. The thing that separated Ian from other attorneys that I spoke to was his honesty about his retainer fee. Most attorneys will give you a low figure to "hook" you into retaining them, then, they will bilk their client with fees. My co-defendant was given a low retainer fee but our out of pocket costs ended up exactly the same. After the initial sticker shock, I spoke to my family and we decided that Ian and his team were my best option. He was absolutely worth every cent!!! Ian and Mark Devan started the pre-indictment work and engaged the AUSA. After meeting with the AUSA they devised the best strategy to address the case. They found a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and had an independent opinion written based on the known facts of the case which was supported by case law and policy. The AUSA called three (3) grand juries for testimony and had over a dozen witnesses testify. The final verdict was a "No Bill." There were times, when I thought that I could no longer handle the stress of the situation. Ian always told me, “Don’t worry about it. I’ll handle it.” Or “let me worry about that.” I truly believe that the outcome would have been very different if I would not have been blessed with Ian, Mark Devan, and Brad Wolfe on my side.

"The very best attorney a person could have". Ultimate client service....
Ian Friedman and his firm are one of the finest in northeast Ohio. When you step into their office and interface with their staff you feel a disappearance of the stress and anxiety that a legal issue can cause. In my past experience in legal matters, that does not happen with other attorneys and firms. Ian immediately focuses on the issues of the cases and gives his resolution to the issues of the case. You walk out of his office in a relaxed mode and feel re-energized from all the anxiety, knowing positive results will be the goal and achieved. It should be noted that Ian is one the most highly regarded attorney's in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and northeast Ohio. His legal approach is regarded as the best by all involved in a judicial matter. I have been blessed several times to have his firm behind me. I am also, honored to know Ian and the staff of his firm.

The best around!!
I contacted Ian friedman for a case I had pending in the Akron Ohio area, first off he was very very easy to talk to and extremely accommodating , his only concern then was putting my mind at ease. I was possibly facing criminal charges and I asked another attorney friend of mind who I should call and his only answer was Mr. friedman . I immediately knew he was the right attorney for me and anyone else who might have some possible legal problems they are dealing with. He is extremely friendly but tough when he needs to be. I will never ever lose his number. No wonder he was rated as a top class attorney. He handled my situation with tact and diplomacy at the same time. I was never worried about my case after are initial conversation. If your looking for the smartest, thoughtful and someone who will always be in your corner no matter what then he is definitely the attorney for you.

A Lawyer you keep forever!!!
I met Ian Friedman about 11 years ago during a difficult time. He made this process much easier for me during an appeal process (criminal case) for my boyfriend. He was the 3rd lawyer we had seen for this court case and from the beginning I knew he was different. Very honest about what he can do and what your options are. There were no surprises he prepared us for every situation. Needless to say awesome!! Over the years he has represented my brother (DUI), me (traffic), and again my boyfriend (criminal case). No jail time really good judgments. He has also consulted with me on a civil suit when a contractor screwed me and assisted me with filing my own papers because of the cost of hiring him. This guy is the best he's not one those attorneys that is trying to just take your money. You can tell that the law is his passion. Everything he has ever told me and my family out of these 11 years always has proven to be true.

Saved my life
You never know how quickly life can change until it does. And when it does, you NEED Ian in your corner. Cool, level-headed, smart and knowledgable about the system. When my life changed, I rushed to hire an attorney, and in my panic I didn't do the research. Thankfully, I was told to contact Ian and about a week later retained him. It was right there that I learned how important it is to get Ian on your side EARLY, as I started seeing results immediately. Ian is a true professional; from his knowledge of the system to his utter lack of fear if you need to go to trial, this is, without a doubt, who you want fighting for you.

Saved an Innocent man
This brilliant defense attorney has truly changed my family's life. The father of my children, my best friend, and soulmate was facing a lot of time for a violent crime he DID NOT commit. After being talked into a ridiculous plea by our previous "lawyer", Mr. Friedman was able to vacate the plea and start the trial process all over again. After many failed attempts at another plea, the case went to trial. As soon as the trial began, Mr. Friedman left the prosecution with their jaws dropped opened. He absolutely OWNED the trial. From start to finish, he was ready, educated, smart, and ahead of the game. His confidence could be felt by everyone in that courtroom. He never even had to call one of his defense witnesses as he watched the prosecution drown themselves. In the end, after a not guilty verdict, Mr. Friedman and his client (my family member) were commended for never taking a plea. Mr. Friedman told the truth. And the truth set us free. We could never thank him enough and he is MORE than highly recommended.

A professional when needed
An innocent mans champion IAN FRIEDMAN Life can... Change on the toss of a coin. *Being at the wrong place, at the wrong time.... *Not understanding the lines of the law. *Making a bad decision TRUTH: The thought of being accused of a crime when you're innocent is both aggravating and frightening. The risk of being incarcerated as a result of not being properly represented by a well seasoned, intelligent and driven attorney.... Is stress inducing, life altering and complete loss of productive life... My Story: I was once in the wrong place at the wrong time. The police turned things around because one of their own were involved. I was locked up for (5) days in horrible conditions and was looking at (8) years. Again, being in the wrong place at the wrong time! Ian Friedman didn't waste any time. He got me in the office to discuss the case. He made it clear that he could win He eased my nerves with clear, concise and professional service. Ian Friedman got me through my storm and I'd advise anyone to use his legal expertise. Thank you Ian Friedman My freedom shines brightly.

Best Lawyer in Cleveland!
Ian was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable of the legal system. He clearly communicated the legal options. He took action to gather all evidence and thoroughly reviewed it and the facts of the case. He built a strong strategy and effectively communicated it to me. He was direct, honest and fair. He was compassionate to me and my family. He not only helped me with the criminal aspects of my case, but also with personal aspects of my life. I highly recommend his services to anyone that has a need for his superior legal services. I can't say enough as to how impressed I was with Ian!

Amazing
This guy was fantastic. He did everything and more that was asked of him. He is very expensive, but as with most things you get what you pay for.

Ian is the best period
I was facing life in prison for a crime I did not commit. After an initial conviction during a bench trial, Ian was able to get me a new trial based upon previously undiscovered evidence and I was found not guilty by a jury at the second trial almost immediately upon beginning deliberations. Ian saved my life.

"I endorse this lawyer. This lawyers contributions to this site are invaluable. I happily endorse this lawyers work, ability and charity to those asking for advice. Further, I like to endorse good lawyers, because I find the AVVO rating system to be dishonest and corrupt. Frequently, disgruntled litigants on the opposing side (not your clients) will bash a lawyer on this site, pretending to be "your" client. When this situation is brought to AVVO attention, Avvo refuses to do anything to investigate and remove the false, slanderous "client" reviews. AVVO is a mean petty internet blog site trying to make money off of lawyers, and does not care if the public receives truthful information."
