Excellent Attorney

Mark is a good listener. He and his team conduct thorough background and research. As a result, his oral and written arguments were well structured. It was clear to even a casual observer how state and federal laws did or did not pertain to the facts and information brought forward in the case. Ma...rk also did an excellent job keeping me informed of all developments and promptly returned my phone calls. Additionally, he maintained a positive, upbeat attitude which was invaluable. I would not hesitate to use or recommend him or his firm.

"I endorse this lawyer wholeheartedly. I had the opportunity to work with Mr. DeVan on significant matter because I knew the defendant well. Mark is obviously a proficient and dedicated lawyer. The case was a complicated one, involving numerous motions, including pre-trial motions and briefs, a pre-trial hearing and a trial of about 7 days over most of 2 weeks. Mark worked effectively with the client, his family, other lawyers, and investigators and consultants. He managed the case excellently throughout, including the gathering of evidence, preparing for witness testimony and cross examination, jury selection, and conduct of the trial itself. He showed excellent judgment about what aspects of the case deserved extra attention and which ones didn't. His fine work and the successful outcome are consistent with what one would expect of one of the finest criminal defense lawyers in the area. I have since made referrals of others to Mark and have received very positive reports back."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
