I would use Lee again in a heartbeat. Very smart, very responsive and very willing to go the distance regarding my case. I am happy with the result of my case and feel very lucky he was on my team!
Experienced trial attorney having tried multiple complex cases to verdict. Routinely defends against charges of conspiracy, drug offenses, embezzlement, fraud, identity theft, gun offenses, and white collar offenses.
The bulk of my practice is in two areas: federal criminal defense, and insurance defense. In my federal criminal practice, I help people who are charged with the following crimes:
Conspiracy
Drug offenses, including trafficking and distribution (Examples: marijuana, heroin, cocaine, pills/prescription drugs, methamphetaime)
Embezzlement
False statement in the application/use of a passport
Fraud (Examples: Mail fraud, insurance fraud, bank fraud)
Gun/Firearm offenses
Identity Theft
Insider Trading
Money Laundering
I also know how to handle criminal appeals, supervised release violations, and Section 2255 motions for postconviction relief. I have tried numerous cases to verdict. A number of my trials have lasted for multiple weeks and have been designated as "complex" by the federal judiciary. I am a member of the distinguished Criminal Justice Act panel for the Eastern District of Kentucky. This group, which represents indigent defendants upon appointment from the court, consists only of attorneys who really know this area of the law.
Given my experience in representing defendants, I am also equipped to represent victims of crime. I frequently represent companies and individuals who are victims of employee theft. My goal in these cases is to recover the money stolen from my client, which is often in the six figures.
In my insurance defense practice, I regularly represent individuals and businesses pursuant to automobile and commercial policies. These cases range in scope from car wrecks to slip-and-falls to breach of contract disputes, and have given me ample opportunity to hone my skills in the courtroom.
On occasion, I will accept Plaintiff's cases. My biggest trial victory so far was in a case where I represented a minority shareholder of a local company who did not receive any of the nearly $6 million in proceeds when the company was sold. We were able to obtain a judgment for the client in excess of one million dollars.
