Dumped Me!
I had a signed contract with this attorney. He had my case for over 6 months. One week prior to when the case had to be filed? He dumped me along with his co-counsel. The MS Bar should look into this incident.
I am sorry you had a bad legal experience. I cannot think of any client (or former client) at all that would fit the description you put in this review. The only sort of case where such a scenario might occur is a medical malpractice case in which we obtain a signed contract so that we can gather medical records and submit them to an expert for review. In medical malpractice cases, Mississippi law requires Attorneys to have a licensed physician give an opinion that the client was injured or damaged because the treating physician (or hospital) breached the applicable standard of care before we can file a lawsuit. If we can't get a licensed physician to go on record saying the other doctor caused the injury in this fashion, we have no choice but to decline the case. Depending on when the client comes to us, how long it takes to get the records, and how long it takes to have a medical expert perform a review, sometimes we have to decline representation close to the statute of limitations. Perhaps you were such a client, although I am not aware of a single client whose case was declined within a week of the statute of limitations. I would appreciate it if you would call me at (228) 432-7826 to straighten this matter out. That said, if you believe the Mississippi Bar should be involved, you can call them at (601) 948-4471 Thank you, Christopher C. Van Cleave
"I consulted with Christopher on a highly complex issue involving personal injury and some challenging procedural issues. Christopher was incredibly well-prepared, detail-oriented, and showed excellent strategic judgment. I would highly recommend him for any matter involving civil litigation."
