Biography
I practice primarily in the area of personal injury, representing individuals injured as a result of any type of accident or premises situation. I have significant experience in cases involving 18-wheeler accidents, other large accidents, and automobile defects. In addition, I have developed a maritime practice, and represented companies and individual clients in connection with the Deepwater Horizon disaster. I have been instrumental in orchastrating the recovery of millions of dollars for my clients during my career in just about every type of personal injury case imaginable including the largest known settlement for an offshore death. I also practice in the area of domestic law where I represent people in all aspects of divorce and child custody in our Chancery Courts. I have successfully argued before the Fifth Circuit on three separate occasions and was featured in the July 2006 edition of the ABA Journal. I am rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, a member of Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and has been listed a Mid-South Rising Star by Super Lawyers 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014; as well as a Super Lawyer in 2017. I received my J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 2000, graduating magna cum laude. I was a shareholder with Young Wells Williams P.A. located in Ridgeland, Mississippi for many years prior to partnering with Kobs & Philley, PLLC in May of 2016.
