A native of Mississippi, Benjamin N. Philley was born in Jackson, Mississippi and grew up in Grenada, Mississippi and the Mississippi Delta. Ben is one of the founding shareholders of Kobs & Philley, PLLC. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business and Finance from the University of Mississippi in 1998 and his Law Degree from the Mississippi College School of Law, where he was a active member of Law Review. While in school, Ben clerked for law firms specializing in both personal injury litigation and civil defense.
Upon graduation from law school, Ben became an associate with Wise Carter Child and Caraway, where he defended cases involving major railroad companies, including Amtrak, Illinois Central Railroad Company, and Kansas City Southern Railroad Company. Ben also represented the defense in complex litigation involving claims related to medical malpractice, automobile accidents, and nursing home abuse.
Currently, Ben is a personal injury attorney who devotes his practice exclusively to the representation of severely injured victims as a result of someone else's negligence. Although Ben has a wide spectrum of personal injury litigation, he emphasizes his practice in the area of automobile accidents, trucking accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, defective pharmaceuticals/medical devices, nursing home abuse, railroad crossing accidents and Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) claims. Even though Ben is now 100% devoted to serving severely injured individuals, Ben's experience in the defense of litigation is invaluable in obtaining favorable results for his clients as he knows how the other side works. Ben is committed to reaching the best possible result for his clients.
Ben is married to Melissa Wise Philley formerly of Brookhaven, Mississippi. They have two daughters, Libby Lane and Layla. He enjoys hunting, fishing, water skiing, wakeboarding, playing golf and is an avid Ole Miss Fan. I endorse Ben. I am very familiar with his superior talents as a lawyer, as well as his general business acumen. His firm is well thought of by judges and other lawyers as a product of the quality of their work. Ben is also a nice guy to talk to. I would recommend him highly in any of the areas his lists are his practice concentration.
