also known as Hale Freeland
I grew up in Oxford MS. Went to Ole Miss as an undergraduate studying history, served in the Navy in Newport, RI, NY City and eventually Norfolk, VA where I was assigned as Gunnery Officer onboard the USS Ainsworth (FF1090). While onboard the Ainsworth traveled to Northern Europe, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, Africa, and the Middle East. Returned to Ole Miss to law school, after which I worked for the MS Supreme Court and Federal District Court. I have practiced primarily business estate and elder law in North MS and Western Tennessee since leaving the court system in 1987. Married to Cynthia Freeland, CCRN. We have two adult children, Catherine, lives in Philadelphia, PN works for the Hepitius B Foundation and Jason is a SSGT in the Air Force. We like outdoor activities in the mountains or ocean, particularly sailing & good food. We are active in the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford, teach an adult bible study and I am a Rotarian.

Hale was very professional and kept us updated on the progress of an estate matter. He went over and beyond his duty. He met with the session five times at the church to let us know of the progress of the estate. We were very pleased with the results and would use him again.

The good lawyer
I have been a client of Mr. Hale Freeland long enough to have a good sense of his personal and professional integrity / constitution. I have worked with him on a variety of needs that required the expertise of a legal counselor. I have found in Mr. Freeland a very sensitive, humanitarian approach to...
"Mr. Freeland has a demonstrated ability to successfully handle complex cases while treating his clients well and maintainig his professional demeanor. It is with pleasure that I endorse this lawyer."
"Hale currently represents a client who had multiple business entities all tied together with personal guarantees and all of which are in Chapter 11 Bankruptcies. Hale has sued multiple Banks in both District and Bankruptcy Court. The organizational and legal skills involved in navigating both systems has been impressive."
"Hale is a great attorney and knows the law well. He does not hesitate in being a strong advocate for his clients."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have had the privilege of knowing Hale for more than 35 years and I find him to be a person of utmost integrity and ability."
"I have known Hale for many years and have found him to be a very aggressive advocate for his clients. Being licensed in both TN and MS allows him to serve more clients than most attorneys. There's not much Hale hasn't or can't handle."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have been the opposing attorney in multiple cases with Mr. Freeland and have worked with him as co-counsel in others. Some of the cases have extremely complex and Hale has always shown the ability to understand the issues and represent his clients effectively. Any one in North Mississippi that need representation in the areas of practice that he handles would be well served by choosing him as his/her attorney."
