Patrick Brooks has defended thousands of criminal cases in the Memphis and West Tennessee courts since 2012. Brooks Law Firm handles criminal charges at every level — from a traffic citation or first-time misdemeanor in General Sessions at 201 Poplar, to felony drug, domestic and violent charges in Shelby County Criminal Court and federal prosecutions in the Western District of Tennessee.
The practice is built around four areas. Criminal defense generally, covering theft, assault, weapons and probation violations. DUI defense, including first, repeat and felony charges, breath and blood test litigation, and the separate license revocation track that runs on its own ten-business-day deadline. Drug charges from simple possession through trafficking, where most winnable cases turn on the search rather than the substance. And traffic and commercial license defense for drivers whose job depends on the outcome.
Patrick appears in General Sessions and Criminal Court in Shelby County, the municipal courts in Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett and Millington, and the circuit courts of Tipton, Fayette, Lauderdale and Haywood Counties. In most traffic and misdemeanor matters he appears on the client's behalf so they do not have to miss work. He also served by special assignment on every case in the Shelby County Veterans Treatment Court and continues to represent veterans there.
