Born in Knoxville and raised in Oak Ridge, attorney Lisa Collins Werner is a Tennessee native with degrees from Tennessee Tech University and St. Louis University School of Law. She has been practicing law since 1992 and is licensed to practice in three states: Tennessee, Illinois and Missouri.
She is trained in collaborative divorce, and is a Rule 31 mediator. The Tennessee Supreme Court has listed her as a qualified mediator for general civil and family law cases. Additionally, she has chaired the ADR Section of the Knoxville Bar Association, was the co-chair of the Collaborative Law Committee for the Tennessee Bar Association and is currently an American Arbitration Association Arbitrator. Lisa is also currently on the board for East Tennessee Collaborative Alliance (ETCA).
Interestingly, however, law was not Ms. Werner's only career. In fact, she has been a successful entrepreneur, and she has developed and sold several successful businesses. She understands the business world and what it takes to build a multimillion-dollar company from the ground up. This diverse background gives her a unique perspective when it comes to family law, particularly in the areas of divorce and the division of complex assets such as ownership in partnerships and other businesses.
