Professional and effective

My experience with Lake Way Family Law Attorney Aaron Chapman and staff. At the office visit I was greeted in a calm and professional manner.I was informed in detail of what to expect and time lines as the case progressed. The case went much smoother than I anticipated with positive results.Thank you ....I highly recommend your firm.

Poor listener

Just wanted to get it done as quick as possible, did not want to listen and pushed me settle for what given. Would not recommend to even my worst enemy. Take your business to someone who actually try to get you the best results.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you do not feel that you have been served well and it doesn't sound like what we are used to hearing here! Can you contact my office so we can discuss this and make sure we are on the same page with respect to any legal matter I may have handled for you?

Do NOT Recommend

I’m amazed reading these reviews. Aaron Chapman is one of the worst attorneys I’ve ever been associated with. He never did anything I requested of him, and actually speaking with him in person or on the phone is pretty much impossible. When you hire Aaron you basically hire his secretary because she ...is the one you will speak to no matter how many times you request to speak with him. Please do yourself a favor and hire someone else. In court whatever opposing attorney suggests he will agree to. He is not an aggressive attorney and he will not fight for his clients.

Non-endorsement of this lawyer

I would never recommend this lawyer for anyone dealing with child support as the non-custodial parent, especially if you live out of state. Having limited funds, I had to choose either get a lawyer or go represent myself. I finally chose to get a lawyer because my ex continually harasses me for mor...e & more money, but I only make $11.50 an hr. & when I had my child, he was in arrears with me which Mr. Chapman had told me we could use to counter his claim for braces he was coming for me on. He never used that & later when I complained, only then told me other procedures would have to go through. Also in court that day (again, he was supposed to be representing me) they offered a payoff of about $700 lower than I would have to pay, but Mr. Chapman declined the offer without even contacting me. He claimed he couldn't use a phone in court. Couldn't he have asked for a 5 min. break to call me & see if it was possible to get the money there which I could have by having my father wire it to a friend. I ended up paying $700 more than I should have and I sent the payment in the next day. He ASSumed....and a lawyer should never do that especially when they are representing you. He then blamed me for not being there but it was always understood I did not have to be there for a modification or to contest the show cause on the braces. If that had been the case, I would have been there but without representation because I couldn't afford it, but he tried to make that a big issue. He never contacted me before the case except the day before to ask for my most recent stub. I contacted him by email a week before with questions, but the answers he gave me didn't even make sense, it was like he was talking about someone else's case instead of mine. It was obvious he had no idea who I was because he had not given much thought to my case. I knew then I was in trouble, but it was too late to do anything about it. Mr. Chapman as far as I am concerned, did me an injustice and when I finally spoke up and said something about it, he tried to turn it around on me and seriously, it was not my fault. I did not continually harass him about the case (which maybe I should have--maybe I shouldn't assume someone would really have my best interests in their minds), and had told him to contact me as he needs to. He seemed to be very attentive until I paid him, then it was like he was MIA. He never even called me after court that day, until I sent an email asking late in the day. Then he told me he didn't have time to talk to me that day, but maybe he could the next day and gave me a brief synopsis of what happened that left me full of questions and tears in my eyes. Now, he didn't have time to speak to me, but when I wrote back and really told him what I thought about his services, he wrote me a two page email (if it was written out it would have been 2 pages) telling me how it was my fault and through out a bunch of legal garble that made no sense and truly showed a side of him that I wish I knew before I contacted him. I would never suggest him to anyone unless maybe you are right there to "guide" him through the trial. I don't know and I have never written a review on anyone, but I just don't want to see another non-custodial parent who has always paid their support and for once was tired of the harassment be locked into an agreement which such an unprofessional lawyer. Angie's List...here I come too.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
