This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.

This means that the attorney's misconduct in another state, or jurisdiction, also violated the rules for practicing law in Virginia.
Jason's comment:“See above response please.”

Suspended means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.
Jason's comment:“The complaint filed was from a former attorney/employer and NOT a client. My discipline resulted in no interruption in my ability to practice law in TN or VA. The "suspended" time was not ordered and my license was never inactive. The employer filed the same complaint in VA that he did in TN and the discipline was the same. The attorney that filed this complaint has a history of doing this to other attorneys in the Tri-Cities. I was the 3rd of what are now 8 such complaints.”
