Layne Gillespie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2002 and a Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law in 2007. While in law school, Layne served as the Vice-Chair of the Moot Court Board and received the Book Award for Pre-trial Civil Practice.
Layne began her legal career in Virginia as an intern for the Honorable Michael L. Moore, Circuit Court Judge for the 29th Judicial Circuit of Virginia. After her internship, Layne worked at ChildLaw Services Inc., a non-profit organization devoted to the representation of abused and neglected children. Upon relocating to Chattanooga, Tennessee in the Spring of 2008, Layne joined Clark & Washington, LLC as an associate attorney. In January of 2015, Layne started Chattanooga Legal Group, PC. In 2021, Layne opened Titan Title and Escrow Inc. In 2022, Layne become Supervising Attorney for Ancillary Services and in 2023 became the Supervising Attormey over Tennessee Foreclosure at Robertson, Anschutz, Schneid, Crane, & Associates PLLC, a prestigeous nationwide creditor's rights and real estate firm.
Layne is licensed to practice in Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee,and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Layne has been named an Attorney for Justice by the Tennessee Supreme Court in 2017 -2023. Layne was also selected as a 2017 Rising Star on the Mid-South Super Lawyers list.
