An Honest LAWYER...

My True Advocate

Selecting a lawyer is scary, because things are usually going, or are about to go, sideways on you. Knowing a lawyer usually is not enough. After making several phone calls, I decided to contract with Ken. Everyone thinks they are special and deserve immediate attention. However, I actually had a very urgent family issue that could only be resolved by a judge's order. Ken was not only willing to fit me into his busy schedule, he dropped everything he was working on and actually listened to me. After listening, Ken completely cleared his calendar for the next two days to attend to my needs. What I received from Ken was not only the legal aspects of the decisions I had to make, but also the gentle guiding hand of someone who really cared for me with heart-felt compassion for my situation. He provided advice not only as a legal "bulldog," but also sincere friendly advice helping me with the difficult decisions. In the end, I found Ken to be a true legal advocate, but more importantly to me, he provided me with a firm and compassionate guiding hand meeting me at my place and time of need.

I have been an attorney since 1989 with a strong emphasis on Fathers' Rights and Family Law. I was a victim parent of parental kidnapping, with my child taken to a foreign country. With a background also in law enforcement (State Trooper & Drug Enforcement Agent), serving my clients well is my highet priority.

My law enforcement career included Wisconsin State Patrol, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Hampden (ME) PD, and Collegedale (TN) PD.

My law practice began with the firm of Paty, Rymer, & Ulin, P.C. in downtown Chattanooga. From there, I opened my own firm with the name "Kenneth R. Lawson & Associates", and then "Lawson & Newkirk".

Today my firm name is "Ken Lawson Law" and we bring to our clients an expertise in family law, representing both men and women in divorce, custody, child support, both in filing cases and defending them.

I have a burning desire to help people solve problems they are unable to solve themselves. This is especially so with Fathers' Rights, which have been traditionally minimized in the past. Although conditions for fathers have changed, Fathers' Rights still often are not protected as they should be. This burning desire to protect people's rights is at the heart of our motivation to be of help to our clients. Although I have a hearing impairment, my hearing dog (service dog), Olive, and I are well-recognized in all of the courts.

We have a spanish-speaking staff, so we provide a wide range of services to the Spanish-speaking cultures.

An Honest LAWYER...

I have used Mr. Lawson on many occasions.His knowledge of the law and professional conduct are not found in all attorneys. Folks this is an HONEST lawyer !!!He's hard working and he keeps you informed.... Oh by the way his rates are great.......... and did I mention he's HONEST... ..Ken has handled divorce's for me as well as advised me in business matters! Five star law firm

Mr Lawson is a very good divorce lawyer. He is straight to the point and does not sugarcoat the truth. He will be honest with you even if it’s not what you want to hear. Amazing Lawyer

I could not ask for more.

Mr. Lawson was everything my family needed and more. He knew exactly what needed to be done on our first meeting and carried it out literally the next day! Throughout the rest of the case, he was informative, courteous, always quick to respond to any question, and had a clear plan as to what course of action to take next. Exceptional Legal Representation

Attorney Ken Lawson was magnificent in negotiating what initially was a legal separation filing into a very satisfactory divorce settlement. My case presented some very challenging issues because of the length of time of estrangement from my spouse and our residences being in separate states. Deserves more than 5 stars

I was referred to Ken Lawson by a family member. After speaking with Mr. Lawson as well as a few other lawyers (due diligence), i was SURE that Mr. Lawson was my guy. From the very beginning he was honest and upfront with me about how the system works and what my best chances were.... My child was taken 800 miles away from me and it meant more than anything to me to establish some rights as a parent so that i have a chance to continue to be a father. Mr. Lawson fought for more than what was offered and we got it. There were occasions when i needed him to move quickly in resolving matters so that i could see my child while the case was ongoing and he was always available and up to the task. I was more than pleased with Mr. Lawson and will refer him to ANYONE asking about Family /Fathers Rights. He’s an honest man and in the business for the right reasons.

Honest Intelligent

Attorney Ken Lawson and his staff are absolutely incredible people. We hired Ken to help us with a very complicated case. I called many Attorney's, spent hours explaining our situation and none of these Attorney's understood. AMAZING LAWYER

Straightforward and to the point

I just went recently through an ugly and long divorce process. Ken helped me, advised me, gave me friendly recommendations, was honest and straightforward, not interested in money only, but showing real interest in helping me. He knew the lawyer on the opposite side and acted and counseled me in a professional and smart manner that helped me getting to the end of the process with a fair agreement. Excellent attorney

Emergency custody hearing

I called Mr.Lawson the day before my case when I found out about it. He was the only attorney that didn't laugh and think needing representation the next day wasn't a complete joke. He won my case with only having a few hours to prepare. Lucky to have had him represent my son and I.
