Divorce

First off. You have to be realistic. When it comes to court there’s going to be things that are out of your lawyers control. Ms. Burdine worked for me, advised me, and actually seemed to care how I felt about things. It’s a divorce it’s going to be ups and downs. Her and her team really make it known... there working for you and are on your side every step of the way. Some things weren’t perfect but again, honestly it’s court there’s a lot of moving parts to the process that are not in her control. Will always keep ms. Burdine’s phone number and wouldn’t hesitate to retain her again. My personal experience was a very good would one. And I would recommend her to any man or woman when it comes to divorce or custody issues.

JUST SAY NO!

I strongly advise against hiring this lady. She will take your money and do nothing. She does not reply to messages on her app and if she does you get one ir two words. I hired her in August and consistently asked about the progress of my divorce and she never gave an answer. She quoted me $3000 and ...I had paid her $1500 and for that price I would expect something to be done at least a filing but she literally did NOTHING. So when I finally decided we should part ways I asked for a refund. She told me she’d be happy to return monies that were not used totaling $400. O met with her ONCE for maybe and hour and a half, two at most (and she was late) and you mean to tell me that was worth $1100?!?! This was on Nov 1. She said she’d mail my $409 that day, it is now Nov 29 and I have received nothing. I email and get no response. I called and spoke to a lady named Fernanda and conveniently no one was there to take my call but she assured me I would receive a call back. I have not, and now when I call it goes to music and voicemail… automatically. But guess what? I had a friend call and you know what happened? Someone answered the phone. So assumed she made so when my number shows up that is what happens. This lady is a scam artist and for you sanity I would suggest doing thorough research before deciding to move forward with her.

Don’t do it

Don’t do it. Horrible lawyer. Only way to make her work on your case or even respond to you is to threaten her with the news and reporting her to the bar. She will take your money and disappear.

Extremely Unprofessional & Impossible to Work With

We hired Hannah around April 2022, other then our first phone call it was a literal night mare. The very first incident we had with Hannah was two weeks prior to the first court date, where we kept receiving emails stating our court date to be on the incorrect date and time(sent From her Firm). we wo...uld then have to call the law firm and inform them of their mistake, this continued 5 additional times in the span of 2 weeks all the way up to the day before our court date. the time errors where also dramatic with some being dated as far as a week off. during this period we requested to speak with Hannah personally multiple times where our request was never met( this will be a recurring theme if you use Hannah). after the 5th time of correcting this me and my fiancé showed up to court as planned, where we sat and waited 3 hours just to be informed by the judge himself that Hannah moved the court date back and that she commonly did this with her clients. Hannah did all this without consulting with us and lettings us know anything. I do believe in giving credit where it's due; she did at least NOTIFY THE PLANTIFFS TEAM just a shame she didn't work for his team. Moving forward we initially paid Hannah half the amount and continued to ask Hannah several times in person when the 2nd half of the payment was due, where she then informed us that the payment would be due at the end of all the court dates and not to worry about it. She then emailed us for payment which was not a problem at all, but we didn't see the email. I admit this was a mistake on my part. Although instead of reaching out through phone call or even sending a letter in the mail like any other business would do, Hannah choose to instead withdraw from our case where once again we found out after the Plaintiffs team did. After reviewing the letter It stated, "I enclose a Motion to Withdrawal, Which will be filed with the court ten (10) days after the receipt of this letter in the meantime, if you wish for us to continue representing you we would be pleased to do so if satisfactory arrangements are met." I proceeded to call everyday to try to find a solution as this was the first I was hearing about this. during the week of me calling my phone calls rang once and was instantly ignored, at this point I assumed my number was blocked so I had my fiancé call. He was able to get through on his first try when asked to speak with Hannah and explain that we had every intention of paying and would like to continue having her and her firm represent us. It seemed after finding out it was us calling though, they gave us the typical run around that they would call us back and never did. Instead of calling us and communicating like a decent business, Hannah elected to not have any form of communication and went straight to withdrawal. Although we were frustrated that Hannan's team went to such dramatic measures before contacting us, we still tried to call to fix the issue as we didn't want to try to find a new lawyer like we should have sooner just to be further ignored. Ultimately this letter was a huge shock as I just asked Hannah about payments in Person after court where I got told to pay the rest after the entirety of the case and that we would set up a payment plan soon. In conclusion my experience was horrible. I found my self doing their job; correcting dates Multiple Times, a lack of communication, and a lack of any respect as a client to acknowledge any of our phone calls. If you use Hannah you will only be able to talk to her when she decides to show up to court. Please choose your lawyers and how you spend your money better than we did.

Highly Disappointed/ Wouldn't recommend

I originally reached out to Hannah through legal match in August 2021. We communicated a few times through email and then she stopped responding and answering calls. My issue wasn't time sensitive, so I wasn't too concerned about her not responding and just let everything go. Well things changed and ...a few days ago I found myself seeking legal advice with the intent on paying a retainer and getting the ball rolling after our initial consultation. Because now my issue is something that needs to be seen in court. Signed up for legal match again and sure enough Hannah was the first attorney to respond (or so I thought). Because I appreciated the urgency of acceptance I decided to give her firm another shot in hopes that maybe the instance in 2021 were one in a million. Boy was I wrong!! Hannah was the first attorney to accept and respond to my available interview times, requesting we meet at 10a. 10:05 came around and still no call or email. So I called her office. The receptionist answered, "Thank you for calling Boris....Burdine Law, how can we help you?" I told her that Hannah scheduled me for a 10a meeting and I hadn't heard anything, so I was wondering if I was supposed to call them. She stated, "no, she gets backed up sometimes and will give you a call as soon as possible. But I'll go ahead and let her know you are waiting." 2 minutes later I receive a phone call. This time from I'm assuming Hannah's legal aid. She asks my name and then tells me that, "Hannah can indeed take my case and that it would be a $1500 retainer. Would I like to go ahead and schedule a sit down with her?" I told her that I was supposed to be having an initial consultation and I haven't had that. She then told me, "Hannah's consultations are $150, would you like me to schedule it?" I then told her that, "the meeting at 10a that Hannah herself requested was supposed to be for a 15 minute free consultation and then after we decide if we're going further with services." She responds oh ok. At this point I had not even spoke to Hannah one time yet she had missed an appointment she scheduled, had someone else contact me about services, and had a receptionist that couldn't remember the name of the firm she was working for. So I told the lady on the phone that I was not interested in Hannah's services since she had not had the decency to contact me herself to see if we would even be a fit for the case, she had not given me any type of game plan or assurance that she would be the one to handle the matter, and all I kept hearing was about how much her fees were and pressure to hurry up and book services. So if you are someone who wants an attorney that cares and sees you as a person, not just a case number, DO NOT go with Hannah Burdine. I now have an attorney who took the time out to contact me directly and have already shown me that they are 1000% capable of handling my case, so I have no need to worry. And because of this, I had no problem paying their $2500 retainer and starting with their services!

Hi Kelci, We are sorry that you did not have a good experience with Burdine Law. We have in our notes that we contacted you on May 26, 2022. The record of the phone call is stamped 10:14 a.m. which shows that our firm did speak with you at the scheduled time. Our policy is to charge for consultations with the attorney, which will be applied toward the retainer, and it is in our notes that this was conveyed to you. The free phone call is with the staff, where we the staff asks you questions and gathers more information from you for the attorney to assess whether the case is a good fit for the Firm to take on. Then the actual meeting with the attorney is scheduled for a fee, depending on how much time you request for speaking with the attorney. I am happy you found an attorney that fits your expectations and wish you the best in your endeavor.
