Joshua Voltaire Lindsey

Divorce is something I've watched my friends do, watched on TV, seen in magazines and the common thread is how UGLY divorce is. My case was very different from what I have seen and I believe that has everything to do with Joshua Lindsey. He dictated the mood of the entire room: always calm, always... kind, always listening.... Don't misunderstand me, he wasn't passive. When things got a little heated, he was ready to own the room again in a different way. I felt like we were in control the entire time; I felt like he was on my side 100%; I felt like he was practical and the reason that I don't HATE my ex husband; he's the reason why to this day my custody situation is perfect (for me and my ex); he's really the reason I'm still sane. I started out with a litigated divorce and I can honestly say: I would not be nearly as far along in the healing process and I would have WAY less money. If you want to subtract some years from your life, I say a litigated divorce is like smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day. Divorce is hard and sad, but Joshua Lindsey made mine bearable and helped me through every step of the way. I fully support the collaborative process. I got probably 10 times the amount of alimony and twice the child support with Joshua than I would have if I had gone with one of "the" divorce attorney's in town. I am very grateful for him and all he did for me!

Joshua was amazingly helpful, compassionate and informed throughout the process of my divorce. He was always checking on my general health and well-being and he tried to make sure that I was doing as well as possible throughout the process. While a genuinely nice and conscientious guy, he also was ...a tremendous advocate that fought for me to arrive at a settlement that was manageable. He was very good about preparing me for each step in the process, including helping me to understand how the state laws tend to favor one party more than another and why. Given the law and my circumstances, what may be fair to me given the reasons for my divorce have nothing to do with what the court determined would be "fair" in terms of a settlement. He also was quite good at foreshadowing some of the strategies the opposing council would use to try and gain more in the divorce and he was on target and able to counter each time. He was so thorough in outlining the terms of the divorce that the mediator and the judge independently commended him on the detailed and thoughtful way that he outlined the terms of the settlement and all of the factors and contingencies that needed to be considered. Joshua is a great person and a tremendous advocate and lawyer and I do not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs representation in a divorce.

Joshua was very knowledgeable and helped me through a very emotionally difficult process. He was very responsive to my family's needs. His adaptability was invaluable in managing the challenges of a military divorce during duty in Japan with Forward Deployed Naval Forces. Time availability was sho...rt and he was able to facilitate accomplishing all that was needed in very efficient fashion. From the beginning, I had the impression that he understood my intentions and goals, and he guided the process to that end. Never did I feel that a decision was being forced upon me or that my interests could have been represented better.

A friend recommended Joshua when it looked like I might need a divorce attorney. Throughout the process Joshua provided timely expert legal advice with warmth and sensitivity during a very difficult time. In my particular case I chose to accept a financial settlement that was biased toward my ex-husb...and in order to keep the peace and maintain a relationship with my stepdaughter. Joshua strongly objected to the financial settlement but allowed me to make my own informed decisions. I continue to highly recommended Joshua to friends facing the possibility of divorce.
