I had a similar experience. After hiring her and paying the retainer fee, it took her 2 months to file the petition, and it was not even correct or complete. She NEVER answers the phone, returns calls, or responds to text messages!! I had to contact her "assistant" to get anyone to respond after 2 we...eks of constant calls and messages, and the assistant asked me how I got her number!!! My case has been lingering for over a year, with no movement or response from the attorney. I too, find myself in the position of having to hire another attorney and go through this process all over again. A huge waste of time and money-$2500 that I will never be able to get back, and over a year later, I'm still stuck in my situation.

I've had to hire a new attorney, pay a new retainer and filing fee. Double the expense.
