Extremely Disappointing and Harmful Representation
This was the worst professional experience I’ve had in my life. During a highly sensitive and critical phase—my divorce—this lawyer failed me completely. Key motions were missed, communication was nonexistent, and I was left in one of the most vulnerable positions imaginable, both legally and emotion...
Hi there. I am not sure which client you are, so I can’t respond with much context. I don’t recall missing any motions or deadlines in any current or recent divorce cases. But I am certainly glad to speak with you about your case and any issues we need to address. Please call me at 615-538-1885 or schedule a call using this link: https://calendly.com/millerlaw/opencases Edit: While I remain willing to discuss any case with any client, past or present, I think I have identified the client who posted this review and want to respond more accurately. This client is a European citizen who hired me in late 2024 to handle an emergency order of protection matter that turned into a Tennessee-based divorce. Client paid a total of $2,000 (two thousand dollars), and I delivered these services: I managed to avoid the OP completely and negotiated a favorable substitute agreement in the divorce case. The client refused to respond to the divorce Complaint within the required time and, as I explained would happen, the opposing party file a motion for default. I finally got the client to respond to me, and then I responded to and defeated the motion for default. I also filed a motion for temporary parenting time which was granted in part and gave the client a clear path to expand the client’s temporary parenting time upon satisfying a couple of conditions. Then, the client refused to answer discovery requests from the opposing party because the client felt the requests were irrelevant and invasive and the full evidence would have been embarrassing and harmful to the client’s legal goals. I explained that discovery requests in divorce cases usually feel very invasive but that the law allows a very broad spectrum of discovery requests (any topic reasonably likely to lead to the discovery of admissible evidence). Still, the client refused, so I explained that the opposing party would certainly file a motion to compel discovery responses, which eventually happened. So, with permission of the client, I entered an agreement to provide discovery responses by X date. Client still refused to provide complete responses or heed any of my advice. Since I cannot facilitate a client’s deception, I insisted the client provide complete responses. I also explained the opposing party would file a motion for sanctions if the client continued to withhold responses, which also eventually happened. We received the notice of that motion quite late, because the opposing attorney snail mailed the notice. So I hurried up and talked with the client again, asked for immediate and complete responses to discovery requests. I also spoke with opposing counsel and filed an appropriate response to the motion. The client resisted repeatedly. I spent a whole weekend talking with this client. Just when I thought we had worked through the discovery issues, the client fired me on Sunday before a Monday (or maybe Tuesday) hearing and was surprised when his new lawyer, who had no history in the case, got exactly the result I told the client to expect—sanctions. So I agree that this client had a rough time in litigation. But that’s because the client fought the process every step of the way and made the situation so much worse than it had to be.

Good problem solver
I hired Mitchell to help resolve a difficult dispute with my three business partners in mid 2024. We eventually split up the business. Mitchell helped me analyze the books and records to figure out that one of my partners was stealing money and clients. Mitchell sent a demand letter and negotiated wi...

SCAM!
This man is SCAM artist DO NOT HIRE him! If you do end up hiring him let me save you the trouble of looking up the Bar complaint information https://www.tbpr.org/file_complaint/step/new You will be needing this. I have been trying to contact him for close to a year and have got no response from. He...
Ryan, you called me repeatedly yesterday while I was in court and have done so on numerous occasions. I emailed you and offered to schedule a phone meeting today or Friday. You scheduled a call for Friday afternoon using the appointment scheduler that has always been available. I also called you this morning and left you a voicemail. While I acknowledge a gap in communication, your comment is overly harsh and defamatory. I filed your case in a timely manner and do not deserve to be publicly attacked, especially when we have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

Caring and Smart Attorney
I was a witness to an emergency will signing in a hospital for a man who had only day to live. Mr. Miller made and delivered the will the same day. What was truly amazing was how he cared for all the parties involved. The family considered some things he said were legally improper. He was able to e...

If I could give zero stars, I would. He's a conman.
Believe every bad review of this man. He'll prey on you with your situation, hound you for the retainer fee and then disappear into oblivion! First contact was in January after my sister passed away in December. Second contact was him calling to ask about our situation and what we wanted the outcome ...
This is a ridiculous review. I had several calls with this client and an extensive meeting with this client at my office. Sure, the client called repeatedly, but 5-10 calls in a single hour without an emergency is harassment, not reasonable communication. Filing this case was delayed because the client wants to accomplish an outcome that is significantly different than what state law dictates. To do so requires consent of a third party. The client instructed me not to proceed with filing the case until we either obtained the third party’s consent or determined consent would not be forthcoming. I promptly prepared ALL documents, including sophisticated assignments of interest, deeds, letters, petitions and other docs. I attempted to contact the third party for several weeks to no avail. I asked the client for assistance contacting the third party by she did not respond. When the client had not seen progress, instead of contacting me or scheduling a meeting using my appointment scheduler, she filed a bar complaint, refused to communicate with me, and has had made her own situation worse than it should have been. Meanwhile the client has ALL of the legal work product I have produced, which amounts to a few thousand dollars worth.
"Mitchell is a hard-working and knowledgeable attorney. He has a true passion for the law that he transforms into a steadfast dedication and commitment to his clients and their cases."
"I am endorsing attorney Miller based upon his outstanding responses on Avvo to individuals who need assistance with business law issues. It is clear that Mr. Miller firmly grasps business law issues and can educate individuals about their options. Recently, I read one of Mr. Miller's responses which went above and beyond what most attorneys do to assist individuals on Avvo. It is refreshing to see attorneys such as Mr. Miller provide thorough and complete business explanations regarding the U.C.C. and the options individuals have under the same. I have no doubt that Mr. Miller would do just as much if not more for clients fortunate enough to retain him. Sincerely, Ahad Syed"
