Don’t let him fool you

I had to go to bankruptcy and hired Jamie because he made it sound like he could do a lot to help us. In the beginning it was ok but the longer we went the more he began siding with my mortgage company that just wants to foreclose on us. Me and my wife probably should’ve ran when Jamie said he knew t...he mortgage company lawyers at Vanderbilt (money hungry S.O.B’s). We tried to tell Jamie we are not behind on our mortgage but all he says is just pay them this amount or your going to court, then he says they aren’t taking our payments anymore but we have receipts showing it is being paid then Jamie says we are out of bankruptcy……whatever the hell that means but bankruptcy is also coming out every month so yea it might be time to go to court then cuz I’m sick of these people I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy

HONEST MAN! TRULY CARES FOR HIS CLIENTS! A GOD SEND!

Jamie has never failed to return a call, email or question in the last 4+ years. He handled my chapter 13 case. I have had major life changing events due to failing health, and Jamie was informative, wise and so understanding. He spoke to me in terms I could understand. I've dealt with over 8 lawyers... in my 56 years and only wish Jamie could have handled all the cases! Jamie treated me like an old family friend and not just a paying client. After his help and info I received ASAP, I could finally put my fears and mind at ease. Anyone thinking about hiring him would be very smart to do so! A wise choice for a very wise man! Thanks to Jamie, my major life change has been a breeze with his help and knowledge! I'd hire him again and again if I need to. Awesome, wonderful HUMAN BEING! Not just another pretty face, haha

Doesn't keep his word nor does he return phone calls!!!

Initially he seemed as if he could help but I was wrong. I thought I found the best bankruptcy attorney in my area. He doesn't return phone calls and has been rude over the phone. Once it was time for me to go to court because of him not being prepared he called me upset because I wasn't moving fast ...enough getting him the answers he needed, I was in a meeting at work! My son's father is currently under a bankruptcy and was not paying child support, we filed a motion to dismiss and I was told by Mr.Lois that if he ever missed a payment to contact him, I did on several occasions with no returned phone call. I even faxed him letters. He left me a message about a month ago stating he didn't have to pursue him (my childs father) and if I wanted him to it would be an extra charge. Definitely not his words in court so now he pays whenever he wants but yet I'm receiving paperwork to increase my bankruptcy payments! He's making good money off of me but that's all that matters to him. Once you go to court and it's over and he's set to get his money then really your no longer a client. I'm looking at other options and speaking to the trustee because there's no need to pay someone who's not keeping up their end of the bargain or returning phone calls. In other words, he's all talk until you sign on the dotted line.

Not very reliable

Hired Loris law firm in Selma 2012, was very nice when we got into Chapt. 13. Have been trying to get in touch regarding an increase to my payments. Have called the Selma and Mobile office and I cannot get in touch with anyone.

The most common reason for the Trustee's Motion to Increase Payments is either due to missed plan payments or debt has been added to your case. I personally review each Motion filed by the Trustee's office to see if it is objectionable, Please call my direct extension at (251) 281-1386 and I'll be happy to explain the reason for the increase and any options you have if this not affordable to you. Chapter 13 bankruptcy lawyer | May 21

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I am a creditor attorney who practices in eight different federal districts. In this role I am always representing creditors against debtors and their attorneys and therefore see the highs and lows of the Debtor attorney bar. Simply put, Mr. Loris stands out in the debtor bar in his representation of his clients. He is always a strong advocate for his clients seeking real solutions to their financial troubles and not simply engaging in the cattle call debtor practice you see so often. Many attorneys will tell individuals what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear. This results in unrealistic bankruptcy plans that are doomed to fail. I have repeatedly seen Mr. Loris file plans that create real long terms solutions that allow an individual to move forward in life with a real bankruptcy solution."

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2013.

Reprimand issued in AL, 2013

updated on 07/14/2016

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the State did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

James’s comment:

“I've been asked to properly explain this reprimand. In 2012, my associate Judson Crump mistakenly mailed an advertising letter to active bankruptcy clients. To mitigate this misconduct, he immediately contacted each lawyer and mailed an apology letter to each client. However, one of our competitors was compelled to file this complaint. The State Bar then issued this, our only reprimand. This mistake, though embarrassing, shouldn't reflect on the services we have provided over the last 23 years.”
