Ginger was appointed my attorney from a previous colleague when unforeseen circumstances caused her to step away from divorce and custody case. Upon the last time my previous lawyer met she told me "I am leaving you in good hands." That statement is undeniably true and accurate. She helped me get on... the right track and disclosed everything that was vital to the case. She consulted me numerous times on which documents were relevant to my case and any information she deemed vital to the case. Over the 2 years of the duration of my case, she kept me informed constantly about details via email and phone calls. Before each court date we would have a preliminary hearing just to have updated information and any pressing issues as well as any new court orders issued. She is absolutely the best lawyer I have ever worked with. She made the entire process and way for me to understand and I would most definitely recommend her to everyone I know. Ginger helped us in a great time of need for my daughter who lived in California with her mother. My daughter expressed to me that she wanted to live here in Alabama just before going back from her summer visit. I was able to see Ginger last minute just before my daughter had to leave. Well, not only was it enough to win, the judgement was made on a Sunday which allowed me to pick up my daughter and have her ready to start school and a bertter life here in Alabama. I never imaginged after the divorce that I could ever have custody of my daughter and it was always a seemingly impossible dream that it would happen one day. When she asked me if she could stay and live with me, I had no choice but to fight for my daughter to give her the life she needs and deserves. Since the day I met Ginger, my fight became hers. I hired Virginia (Ginger) Poynter in August 2014, she took money for container. After that, she became not responsive at all. I had to call many times, left many messages, voice mails. Then, she decided she didn't want to represent me any more and promised to refund my retainer. That was in early Dec.... 2014. Four weeks passed, no refunded yet. I am wondering whether I could get my retainer back.
