Highly Recommended -Excellent Attorney & Education Law Expert

Shane Sears represented my daughter during a dispute with our school/district. I contacted Shane after several of my daughter’s physicians suggested that I consult with an attorney regarding the problems we were having with the school. One doctor recommended Shane specifically. After watching his fan...tastic video on how to avoid IEP Pitfalls and Traps, I was so impressed with his extensive knowledge of education law that I emailed him immediately. Shane called me just a few hours after I sent the email. He was extremely patient and easy to talk to. After our first conversation, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. From that point on, Shane handled all dealings with the school and I was able to focus on my daughter and her health. I had requested an IEP evaluation for my daughter multiple times – both in writing and in person – for more than three years. A few days after my first conversation with Shane, the school had contacted him and a referral meeting was scheduled. He accomplished in less than a week what I couldn’t do in several years. Having Shane there at the meetings was priceless. The meetings are intimidating and extremely stressful, to say the least. Without Shane’s counsel, I would have been lost. He is truly an expert when it comes to education law. I could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and effective advocate for my daughter. I can never thank Shane enough for his advice and assistance during an extremely difficult and emotional time. He was always patient, understanding, knowledgeable and honest. His priority is doing what is in the child's best interest. My only regret is that I didn’t contact him years ago!

Awesome Attorney and 100% Satisfied - A True Fighter for your Rights

My wife and I were struggling to get our daughter into the special needs program at her school. Her results were conclusive that she had a learning disability and ADHD after we had multiple appointments with her a Psychiatrist (April 2014) not to mention her own Pediatrician recognized the signs an...d performed some exams. I also have a learning disability and ADHD and I saw the similarities. After presenting all of the medical documentation to the school. They acted like they did not care and skirted their way around the results and placed her in a bogus internal program - do not agree to this program! We did believing the school had our daughters interests at heart which was not true. They actually stated in their review that she did not qualify overruling 2 medically trained professionals. Well, that program was a complete failure so at the beginning of the year, we hired Mr. Shane Sears without hesitation because you need a BIG GUN in your corner to assist your family in navigating through these educational law proceedings with the school board. It is quoted a lot that you never bring a knife to a gunfight. Well, he was and still is our big gun that handled the proceedings remarkably! He is the professional you want to represent your child in your case because he knows educational law very well and he helps you understand your rights and the law so you do not feel overwhelmed and confused. He always had an answer for each question I asked so he knows his law extremely well. I could not believe the results he got for us which was amazing and I thank God everyday that he assisted us in each step of the way during our proceeding with the school. He explained the process all the way to the end and he will always be there for us if the school slips up. I will say when I had my younger son tested and had the same results that my daughter was diagnosed with 2 years earlier. I handed the school the paperwork during registration prior to having Shane join our team with our struggles with the same school. Although I thought we were going to have the same issues all over again; however, when Shane took our case, the school board suprisingly put Connor on an IEP within 3 weeks after having Shane join our proceedings against the school. I know the school figured out that they would have face Shane again so I know deep down that is the reason they took care of our son quickly plus he truly Needed the extra help like my daughter. They did not want to mess with the BIG GUN for a second time! It took the school board 3 months to get Reagan eligible for special education needs services and it was Shane drilling them each every week. The school board is slow and they drag their so act quickly if you feel your child has any type of disability or needs any type of special needs assistance. I HIGHLY recommend Shane take your case. He is a fighter and he will go all the way to resolve your case. In our case he performed remarkably and fought hard!! He educated my family pretty well on what really goes on during these types of proceedings. Shane, we than you from that bottom of our hearts because this successful outcome would not have happened without your counsel! You are our number one ACE! I will recommend you to each person that needs advice in the situation we have just faced. You are 100% in our book and many thanks 1000 times over!! You are a 6 STAR performer in our book. Shane is an extremely hardworking and dedicated attorney that will battle all the way to the end to achieve the goals that your case needs in order to come to an amicable and successful conclusion! Thank you, Shane!

Tuscaloosa County Board of Education - Special Education

I contacted Mr. Sears concerning issues with my son who attends elementary school within the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education. He has special needs that consisted of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Mixed Receptive Disorders, and others that are not listed. My son was removed from his IEP exce...pt for speech and placed on the behavioral plan within the school. This was working because he is a one on one child that had to have that attention in order to succeed on an everyday basis at school. After months of dealing with the school and awaiting reevaluation from the BOE I contacted Mr. Sears through the advise of his doctor. Mr. Sears took my case serious and treated me with the utmost respect. Through his knowledge and intelligence he was able to meet and demand action from the BOE during a resolution hearing. He has made sure that the BOE upholds their commitment to my son as well as providing me with the communication that a parent deserves. I highly recommend Mr. Sears for any and all educational matters concerning children with special needs because will he do everything legally and ensure consistency for the child. Mr. Sears also had one characteristic that sets him off from other attorneys and that is communication. He would talk and converse with me on a civilian level. He is an individual that I have recommended to several other parents who are having the same issue with their children throughout the surrounding counties. In closing, Mr. Sears, has ensured that my son will be obtaining all the accommodations in education that he is owed so that he can have a successful education. There is not and will never be enough "thank yous'" I can give this man for a job well done.
