My first attorney position was with the Social Security Administration in the administrative law division. It was called the Office of Hearings and Appeals at the time. I received extensive legal training on the Social Security Act and the Cofd of Federal Regulations. I received medical training to learn medical terminology, as well as about injuries and disease processes that can interfere with a person's ability to hold a job.
After leaving the Social Security Administration, I began representing claimants in the private sector. Since 1982, I have represented thousands of clients in disability appeals.
In addition to Social Security cases, I also acquired expertise in the area of Alabama Workers' Compensation claims. I understand workers' comp offset and other issues related to windfall offset and benefit computation.
I consider myself to be an expert in the field of how injury. illness, age and work history impact the ability to earn a living and perform gainful work.

The 11th Circuit agreed with the Plaintiff that the Appeals Council had failed to provide due process prior to taking unfavorable action. This was an exciting win for a young lawyer.
