Terrible person and lawyer

I hired Mr. Rubin to represent my son in a misdemeanor charge. He was super nice until the moment he received my 1500 dollars. He refused to send a letter to the judge that we wrote stating “ It would be against the oath he took to the Florida Bar” The letter was simply a plea to ask for him to rec...eive bond. He told me that if my son was transferred from Broward to Martin county he would send an email and ask judge to get him in court sooner. Yet when he did get transferred he refused to even try. The day before my son was set to appear before the judge, Mr Rubin sent us a text to say he was able to get the date moved up... which was a total lie because it was the date he had been scheduled for the entire time. Mr Rubin shows up in courts and looks like he slept in the suit! He didn’t even attempt to speak to me and ran out of the court room after so I couldn’t speak to him. For anyone Considering hiring this man, here is my advice.... if you are looking for someone who will be disrespectful, nasty, mean and degrading to you then this is your man. Make sure you check the Florida Bar ( which I didn’t do before I hired him) had I checked the bar first I would have know better. Yes, I will be sending a complaint to the Florida Bar! I have everyone of his nasty texts and email that will show exactly how unprofessional this man really is to his clients! Special thank you to all the professional lawyers in the court room you guided me on where and how to pickup my son for jail.

Your adult son was treated with the ultimate in professionalism and results; You retained me after your son was in jail in Broward County, because he failed to appear for court in Martin County when represented by other counsel. He was arrested on a No Bond warrant based upon his failure to appear. I immediately had him transported to Martin County, where he was brought into Court at the first opportunity possible wherein he was sentenced to time served. Your son testified in Court he was completely satisfied with my representation, and, he left Court without a criminal conviction, and a time served sentence. I respect and appreciate your frustration with the no bond that was placed on him when he failed to appear, but, the Court Ordered he be held without bond as result of his failure to appear. Had he been represented by my office from the beginning, he never would have failed to appear as scheduled, but, that's what happens when you do not use my office. I will not respond to your disparaging insults, and, hope you feel better about yourself by insulting the one person who was on your son's side.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. Mike and I were both prosecutors in the same office- at different times; and we were co-counsel on a case together- our client was facing 10 years and went home because we convinced the jury to convict on misdemeanors instead of felonies. Mike is a competent and diligent attorney who zealously advocates his client's causes. Anyone who decided to retain Mike mad a wise choice."
