Mrs. Steger represented me during a highly contentious divorce that included both civil and criminal matters related to the divorce. I had been accused of a number of falsehoods and it was the worst time of my life but she was my rock through the tempest. I knew I had a strong advocate in her, a feeling reinforced when I spoke to others who had hired different lawyers and felt very dissatisfied. I knew with Mrs. Steger that I was not just "a number" or a client, but a person with needs who was cared for at a very difficult time. She was more than a legal advocate; she took on the role of lawyer, doctor, psychologist and friend and was there for me at each step of the process. Over time, through each phase of multiple cases, Mrs. Steger was correct on everything she predicted. At each court hearing she was very professional, arguing logically and methodically while other lawyers were consistently snide, condescending and rude. As every dirty trick in the book seemed to be thrown at us, she rolled with each punch, countered, and easily disassembled the arguments of the opposing attorneys. She kept the ship afloat and moving ahead. At the final hearings she legally disemboweled the opposing counsels with ease of a surgeon. The truth came out and fairness prevailed and she absolutely prevented a great travesty. Even after the conclusion of the cases she followed up with me and truly showed that this was more than just her occupation, but her vocation, her calling in life. LORI HAS NEVER CAME ACROSS AGRESSIVE, A TRAIT I THOUGHT I NEEDED IN A GREAT LAWYER. SHE WAS ALWAYS SWEET AND CALM IN HER MANNERISM AND THAT WAS A CONCERN TO ME AT FIRST. BUT DURING MY DIVORCE, MY EX PRETTY MUCH CALLED THE SHOTS OF WHAT WAS IN OUR AGREEMENT. IN FEAR OF MY EX TAKING US TO COURT, I WAS... VERY CAREFUL NOT TO ROCK THE BOAT AND WAS READY TO AGREE AND SIGN OUR AGREEMENT AND GET IT OVER WITH. BUT LORI STOOD HER GROUND ON CERTAIN ITEMS AND ADVISED ME NOT TO AGREE TO THEM, DUE TO POTENTIAL FUTURE LEGAL DISADVANTAGE ON MY PART, AND CHANGED THEM . I DID NOT THINK MY EX WOULD AGREE TO THE CHANGES BUT HE DID! FAST FORWARD A FEW MONTHS AFTER OUR FINAL DIVORCE, MY EX THREATENED ME RELENTLESSLY ON THIS VERY ISSUE, BUT I WAS ABLE TO POINT HIM TO WHAT OUR AGREEMENT SAYS AND WAS ABLE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT, THANKS TO LORI'S FORESIGHT! SINCE THEN, MY EX AND I ARE GOING BACK TO COURT. WE ATTENDED MEDIATION AS PART OF THE REQUIRED PROCEDURE BEFORE COURT, AND THE MEDIATOR TOLD MY EX, "WHAT YOU HAVE HERE IS A SHITTY AGREEMENT". I GUESS WE CAN THANK LORI FOR THAT!!! I HAVE HIRED A COUPLE LAWYERS PRIOR TO MEETING LORI, AND THEY WERE NOTHING COMPARED TO LORI. SHE RESPECTS ME AS A PERSON AND HAVE NEVER TALKED DOWN ON ME THROUGHOUT THE DIVORCE PROCESS, UNLIKE THE OTHER LAWYERS. I NEVER THPUGHT I WPULD SAY THIS ABPUT A LAWYER, BUT I HAVE COME TO REALLY CARE AND RESPECT LORI, AS A LAWYER, AND AS A PERSON. SHE HAS ALWAYS SHOWN SHE CARED ABOUT ME AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND HAS MY BEST LEGAL INTEREST AT HEART, AND I AM NOT JUST ANOTHER CASE. THANKS LORI!!!!
