Surprise...... I'm going to jail !
I hired Mr.Garland for a BUI case. I was told the plea bargain included no jail time, however at sentencing, I was told 30 days in jail. I wanted to go to trial, as the key witness (arresting agency) would not testify. Mr.Garland told me I didn't have a case and needed to take the deal. He was not ho...
Everyone who enters a plea is carefully questioned by the judge about the terms of the plea and whether they have been "promised" something more than shown in the plea form. Your plea would not have been accepted unless you agreed to the terms. No judge would accept a plea from a person who refuses to identify himself or herself. I invite this "reviewer" to call my office so that we can go over the case. I have no reason to believe that this person, who claims to be anonymous, really retained my firm for representation. Perhaps Mr Anonymous will not identify himself or herself for fear of being exposed. My firm evaluates every case on the basis of the evidence and the applicable law. I am pleased to go over the details with a real person who I actually represented. Anyone who takes a moment to review the case summaries posted on my website would know that few experiences thrill me more that hearing the sound of "not guilty" or "case dismissed". What is particularly distressing is how so-called "reviewers" are employed by third parties to place false statements and unsubstantiated claims on the internet in order to raise their clients position for search engines. I caution all who have eyes that not everything you find on the internet is true. The best way to evaluate an attorney is to personally speak to him or her; and to consider the recommendations of those who you trust.
"I endorse Jeffrey without reservation. He has demonstrated an exceptional grasp of the law and has the skills of a superb litigator."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Jeff for as long as I have been a lawyer, and I consider him a mentor when it comes to arcane procedure and highly technical issues such as blood draws and how they affect narcotics based DUI cases."
