Paul Anthony Kelley

I retained Mr. Kelley as my attorney because he is well known as a legal expert in the field of workers compensation law, specifically the Florida Heart / Lung Bill. Additionally, he knows the intricacies of specific heart and lung conditions (medically) and how they relate to a claimants compensabil...ity. He is totally on the same page when consulting with doctors and medical staff. With his intimate knowledge of both WC law and relevant medical conditions, he was able to secure the needed (doctor recommended treatment) in my case, that was denied on several occasions by the employer/carrier. I hired Paul Kelley in September 2017 for a worker's compensation case under the heart and lung bill. The Kelley Law Group was just what the doctor ordered. I was skeptical about hiring an attorney, however, Paul never let me down. I never had to wonder what was going on with my case. Paul or his ass...istant Connie called or emailed me with ever update. They truly kept me in the loop. When I was scheduled for my deposition, Paul would call and talk to me and made sure I was okay. Paul would say, "if you tell the truth, you don't have to worry." First what I did right; I filed a W/C claim when I experienced chest pains back in 2009. W/C accepted responsibility and paid for numerous procedures over the next seven years, what they didn't do is settle my impairment. Paul Kelley came to Broward County PBA and conducted a seminar on Employee ...Rights with Workers Compensation. The wealth of information I learned at the Seminar made me realized that I was not being treated properly with regards to my claim. After the seminar I was able to speak one on one with Paul and decided that I really needed representation. Over the past year Paul and his Firm where in constant contact and easily accessible whenever information needed to be exchanged. I felt like my case just went from inactive to active and W/C now had to answer for there failures. Two years ago, the Dade County PBA referred me to Mr. Paul Kelley to help me deal with Heart and Lung Bill issues I was having. This review is what my experience has been with Paul Kelley and his staff (especially Barbara) at the Kelley Law Group has been. The Kelley Law Group has been amazing ...in making sure that the benefits the Dade County/Florida PBA fought to get first responders were paid. At every hiccup, they were and continue to be there for me. They were instrumental in getting procedures approved that were originally denied and benefits paid that were originally denied. Mr. Kelley and his staff's knowledge of the Heart and Lung Bill and worker's compensation laws are impressive. As a recent example and something that might be of interest to fellow first responders, I developed complications from treatment for my covered worker's comp/heart and lung bill related injuries. A routine dentist visit revealed significant decay and the dentist indicated that it was related to the use of a CPAP and hypertension medicines. The Employee/Carriers first response to was to deny those benefits. However, The Kelley Law Group was able to secure those benefits for me and I am now able to get my dental work covered under worker's comp. I can't even describe the relief that this is to me.

Without going into too many specifics, both personal and County doctors stated in no uncertain terms that I must retire due to my health as a result of on-duty injuries. I had been denied benefits by Miami-Dade County and also denied approval of the Heart Bill, although I clearly qualified. Other tha...n the standard ambulance chasers, I was unable to find any law firms in South Florida willing to take on the County. Fortunately, I met Mr. Paul Kelley, thanks to the PBA, due to a symposium that they held at their offices regarding the Heart Bill. Mr. Kelley assured me that he would look into my situation, as he felt that I had a good case and advised me that he would like to speak to me in further detail at a later time, he then took my information down and I left. I did not hold any high hopes at the time, of receiving a return call or of having any type of positive outcome due to my previous experiences and the fact that Mr. Kelley's office was in Maitland, Fl. However, it wasn't long before I heard from Mr. Kelley and we met at an office that his firm opened in Coral Gables. He spoke to me in no uncertain terms, and we quickly became friends. Although he felt that I had a good case, he advised me of the possible pitfalls and the numerous hoops that we would have to jump, but assured me that the regardless of the outcome, he would be there with me every step of the way. Everything he stated pretty much occurred to letter almost as a script, but we persevered and I was able to retire and successfully receive the benefits that were due to me thanks in no small part to Mr. Kelley's efforts. It's been over a year since I retired after 31+ years with the County, not a month goes by that I don't think about Paul and his great assistance. I can truly say that I'm still alive today thanks to his efforts. The thing that impressed me the most about Paul, was his sincerity and honesty.
